'Start-Up': Release date, plot, cast, trailers, news and all you need to know about Bae Suzy's K-drama on Netflix
'Start-Up' is a rom-com that is about the silicon valley of South Korea and the culture within. The show will be aired originally on tvN, a pay channel within South Korea and is produced by Studio Dragon who also produced shows such as 'It's Okay to Not be Okay' among others.

'Start-Up' is slated to premiere on October 17 and will air on tvN at 9 pm KST, and can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
Plot:
'Start-Up' is about a young woman who dreams of becoming an entrepreneur like Steve Jobs. He is a man who has become this woman's first love, which means that anyone Seo Dal-mi meets in real life must in someway match up to Steve Jobs. And right on cue, we have Nam Do-san. He is the founder of Samsan Tech, who is excellent when it comes to mathematics and he started his company about two years ago with a dream of making it big in South Korea's Silicon Valley. However, his company has not been doing too well. What happens when this young entrepreneur meets an aspiring entrepreneur who has been working hard, taking up odd jobs to save up enough capital to start her own company, is the crux of the show.
Cast:
Bae Suzy as Seo Dal-mi
Bae Suzy, who was last seen in Netflix's 'Vagabond' opposite Lee Seung-gi and in the film 'Ashfall' will play the role of the young aspiring entrepreneur Seo Dal-mi in the show. She has also worked on other celebrated shows including 'Gu Family Book', 'While you were Sleeping', 'Uncontrollably Fond' and 'Dream High'.
Nam Joo-hyuk as Nam Do-san
We recently saw Nam Joo-hyuk in the Netflix original titled 'The School Nurse Files' and now, he will play the role of a young entrepreneur Nam Do-san who is not doing so well in 'Start-Up'. The other shows that he has been a part of includes 'The Light in Your Eyes', 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo' and 'The Bride of Habaek'.
Kim Sun-ho as Han Ji-pyung
Kim Sun-ho who plays the role of Han Ji-pyung in the show is well-known for his roles in other shows such as 'Catch the Ghost', 'Strongest Deliveryman' and he was also seen most recently in a show called 'Find me in your Memory'.
Kang Han-na as Won In-jae
Actor Kang Han-na will play the role of Won In-jae in the show. 'Designated Survivor: 60 Days' is one of her most recent shows while Han-na has also shared screen space with Nam Joo-hyuk in the show 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo'.
Writer-Director:
The show is written by Park Hye-ryun and directed by Oh Choong-hwan. There is a lot of excitement around the show as the director also worked in the 2019 hit show 'Hotel Del Luna' starring IU in the lead role. The director has previously also worked with Bae Suzy on 'While You Were Sleeping' and his other works include 'Doctors' and 'My Love From the Star'. The writer who worked with the director and Bae Suzy on 'While You Were Sleeping' has also written other celebrated shows such as 'Pinocchio', 'I Can Hear Your Voice' and 'Dream High'.

The first teaser of the show was released in September and featured the four main characters who explain what the show is going to be about -- a start-up.
The trailer of the show was released on September 29 and it gives an interesting peak into what the show will be all about. It hints at a rivalry between Seo Dal-mi and Won In-jae while Han Ji-pyung requests Nam Joo-hyuk to pretend as if he is Nam Do-san in letters. If Joo-hyuk is not really Nam Do-san then who is? The trailer also shows how Joo-hyuk's character works hard to make Dal-mi's dream come true and we will find out why when the show premieres.
