'Stargirl' Season 1 came to an end in the most Disney-fied way possible but, with more brutal twists that were played for laughs. 'Stargirl' is the teenage section of the Arrowverse and was touted to be the less darker and grittier series of all. However, by Episode 3 of the season, a kid had been killed. And then, the murders continued. Kids, teenagers and even unassuming adults were killed off by the devious ISA (Injustice Society Of America).

Yet, in the finale, we saw a darker side to many of the JSA characters. For starters, Yolanda Montez AKA Wildcat (Yvette Monreal), who was talking about how killing was an act of sin to Rick Tyler (Cameron Gellman), killed Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) with her claws, exactly five minutes later. Who said that character development has to be a long process, hmm?  Well, granted, Wildcat is a teenager and she's seen enough of the ISA to know that they are a murderous and venomous lot, who were planning to kill her. This scene also reveals the potential darkness in her character and makes us wonder what her Season 2 storyline will bring. We've already seen glimpses of it when she was prepared to strike out at Henry King Jr (Jake Austin Walker) in hospital and murder him in cold blood for the humiliation he had caused her.

Nevertheless, all said and done, Wildcat is part of the JSA who are meant to rid the world of criminals and the ISA was beginning to telepathically control the whole of Blue Valley, so we can give her a bit of leeway. Courtney Whitmore's (Brec Bassinger) brother Mike (Trae Romano) is a pre-teen and he coolly ran over Icicle with his car (Neil Jackson), in a scene that was obviously intended to be funny. A bit of black comedy? Sure.

Right after that, he says, "Do I get to join the JSA now?" In all probability, he just might.

Nevertheless, the day is saved by the kids of the JSA and well, Pat and Barbara.  Pat finally got the validation he needed and wasn't treated just like a rag, as he has been, for the entire season.

But these scenes show that the young JSA has a dark side and that just might get darker in the next season.

'Stargirl' airs on CW, Tuesdays at 8 pm.
