PUBLISHED SEP 21, 2019

After its award-winning first season, 'Star Wars Resistance' will be returning for a second time with the further adventures of Kazuda Xiono (Christopher Sean) and his ragtag crew as they brave the dangers of the galaxy in search of their Resistance comrades. Season 2 will be the show's last season and will cover the events of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' and lead up to the upcoming film 'Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker'.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.

Release Date:

'Star Wars Resistance' Season 2 will arrive on Sunday, October 6.

Where to watch:

The show will be airing on Disney Channel and it will also be available on DisneyNOW and Disney XD.

What happened in Season 1?

In the first season, young New Republic pilot Kazuda Xiono (Christopher Sean) was recruited into the Resistance and sent to the ocean planet Castilon, where he is tasked with infiltrating an aircraft refueling station called the Colossus under the guise of being a mechanic. He investigates the First Order's plans for the station and the first season built up to the moment when the villainous organization finally took control of the station.

The first season covered events leading up to 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and synced with the movie in the final episodes, with Kaz losing his family on Hosnian Prime when the planet is destroyed by the superweapon Starkiller Base (as seen in the movie). The season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with Kaz's friend and fellow mechanic Tamara Ryvora joining the First Order and the rest of the show's protagonists being launched into hyperspace with no idea where they might end up.

Plot:

The second season picks up immediately after the first and will cover the events of 'The Last Jedi' and lead up to the events of the upcoming film, 'The Rise of Skywalker'.  Kaz and the team will be continuing their fight against the threat of the First Order.

Here's the official synopsis for season 2: "The story picks up after a harrowing escape from the First Order, as the Colossus and all its residents find themselves lost in space, pursued by Agent Tierny and Commander Pyre. Kaz and team also face a myriad of new dangers along the way including bounty hunters, a suspicious Hutt, General Hux and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. Meanwhile, Tam grapples with her future and where her true allegiance lies, with her friends or the First Order. The thrilling final season will showcase how the unlikeliest of heroes can help spark hope across the galaxy."
