Ever since the premiere of 'Star Trek: Discovery' Season 3, fans have found similarities to 'Star Trek: Voyager', which aired almost two decades ago. It's always a bit tricky to watch a 'Star Trek' show, especially if you're not a hardcore fan, as many of the shows have Easter eggs from the inter-galactic lore that has captivated millions across the globe since the 1960s. In the latest episode, Discovery finds the Federation, which had almost vanished into oblivion after The Burn. Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin) is worried about what the Federation is like, as they're now 930 years in the future and whether it still stands for the ideals.

The latest episode of 'Star Trek: Discovery' was sprinkled with 'Voyager' references and that of course got fans squealing with glee. "A lot of Voyager references... Kazon for one! And super f**king annoying holographic doctors!! LOVE THIS SHIT," a fan tweeted. "Finally Voyager gets some freaking recognition. #StarTrekDiscovery," another excited viewer wrote. "Voyager! #StarTrekDiscovery, #StarTrek #STDisco," a fan tweeted.

After the previous episode, fans began to look for numerous similarities and connections between the two shows. "I’m struggling to find words to describe how I feel about this weeks episode of #StarTrekDiscoveryHaving PTSD myself I’ve always found watching people go through mental health challenges hard. It makes me uncomfortable because I’m not in a good place now and a lot of this," a fan tweeted, referring to Kayla's outburst at the lunch table.

Fans have hailed the new season as a 'homage' to 'Voyager' and 'The Next Generation':  "As a big fan of #StarTrekTNG. I was touched and super happy yesterday while watching the new season #StarTrekDiscovery. (episode 3). This is exactly the Starfleet spirit I love, spreading hope & optimism all across the universe. It's a true homage to TNG & Voyager. Watch it."

"I have chills! The f**king USS _______!" a fan wrote, blanking out the name Voyager, for the sake of spoilers.

"#StarTrekDiscovery that was an absolutely insanely great episode. that is what Star Trek is right there. That is DISCOVERY. that is a Voyage. also the ship porn moment helped out a lot. more of those in that century are very welcome. Uniforms could use a little refining though," a fan wrote.
