‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’: Here's what to expect from Miles in his bid to fight The Spot
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Miles Morales is in a pickle at the moment. He is in a universe named Earth-42 where his father, Jefferson Davis is dead, his mother is financially struggling and his uncle Aaron Davis is in a world of crime. To top it off, Miles has a variant of himself on Earth-42 named ‘The Prowler’ which continues to terrorize the streets of New York. All the problems that corrode Earth-42 are blamed on Miles by Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099, the leader of the Spider Society.
In ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ Miles faces a new supervillain ‘The Spot’ who came into being after Miles destroyed Kingpin Wilson Fisk’s Collider. The Spot travels from one dimension to another, gaining power with an agenda to kill Miles. Meanwhile, Miguel wants to stop Miles from disrupting the timeline so that peace can prevail in the multiverse. But for Miles, that would mean sacrificing his father, a loved one, since canon events need to take place in a dimension to turn a Spider person into his full potential. It’s a bond that all Spider persons share across the multiverse. If someone breaks that bond, the multiverse is threatened. Can Miles win against Miguel O’Hara, a stronger Spider-Man from 2099, and The Spot?
Miles to address Spider-Man 2099 and The Spot
Miguel is an experienced leader and a futuristic version of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. He leads the Spider Society and all the Spidey’s from various universes listen to him. He has an army at his disposal to stop Miles who now only has Gwen and the rest of her Spider team (Peter B. Parker, Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker, Spider-Ham, Pavitr Prabhakar, and Spider-Byte) to help him out. Miles will eventually have to fight Miguel or reason with him to save the fabric of the multiverse. However, such a tactic won’t work with The Spot.
The Spot’s real identity is Dr Jonathan Ohnn who worked as a scientist for Kingpin Wilson Fisk. When Miles destroyed the collider to thwart Fisk’s plan, Jonathan became a casualty of that incident. He grew big black spots on his body but gained powers to travel through dimensions. In ‘Across the Spider-Verse,’ Spot was coming to terms with his powers. He gains more of it by traveling inter-dimensionally and vows to end Miles for all the pain he put him through. Miles will first have to fight his evil variant ‘The Prowler’ before he can swing to fight The Spot and Miguel.
