'Southern Charm' Season 8: Austen slammed for trying to 'sabotage' Craig's relationship, fans say he's 'jealous'

While Austen claimed that Craig put his relationship before his friends, fans thought it was 'stupid' for him to expect otherwise

It isn't a season of 'Southern Charm' without Kathryn Dennis kick-starting some chaos. Her birthday party seems to have been the catalyst for all the arguments this season, including the ones that don't involve her. And, what started as low-key disagreements seem to have blown up into all-out fights.

While Kathryn and Naomie haven't spared a moment when it comes to going for each other's neck, it looks like Austen and Craig's friendship has also been heavily strained. Austen was convinced that Craig was his best friend, but the feeling wasn't mutual. The last straw came when Austen had a lot to say about Craig and Naomie hooking up, which rubbed Craig the wrong way.

After talking to Paige, who agreed that Austen had no right to talk about Naomie in a false manner, Craig met with Austen to see what the issue was. As they sat down to talk, Austen made it plenty clear that he was acting out because he felt as though Craig forgot his friendships when he started dating. He joked that while the two of them were not dating, having Craig around was the most stable relationship he had and he missed that. The two seemed to have reconciled, but fans felt as though Austen still had a lot of growing up to do because it was unrealistic to expect Craig to put his friends before his relationship.

"Austen expects Craig to hang out with him all the time while he's in a new relationship. He basically just admitted he was trying to sabotage his relationship so they can be together all the time. When friends get significant others they arent going to hang out with you as much. Genius! #SouthernCharm" agreed another. "What does Austen do? Except wish he still had Craig to do absolutely nothing with? Grow up, get a job, and get your own relationship #SouthernCharm" added another.
