It was a sad Tuesday night for 'Songland' fans as the series didn't air with its regular episode like the previous weeks.

The recently released NBC series 'Songland' is going on a hiatus, but worry not as the series will return on Wednesdays at 9 pm starting August 14th.

While we wait in anticipation for the series to re-air with its new show time and episodes in a few weeks, the series revealed that from July 10th they will air a re-run of the previous episodes every week on Wednesdays.

For those who are yet to watch the series, 'Songland' is a new reality TV competition series that revolves around budding songwriters that gives them a chance to perform their original song for featured artistes who appear in each episode. Some of the artistes that have appeared on the show till now include Charlie Puth, John Legend, Jonas Brothers, will.i.am, Meghan Trainor, Kelsea Ballerini and many more.

Each week four songwriters will perform their original song for the featured artiste; the judges and artiste will then choose three songwriters to move on to the next round. They will then go on to be mentored by judges/mentors Ester Dean, Ryan Tedder and Shane McAnally. The mentors will help them refine their song and once it is finetuned the final three will perform their song for one last time and the featured artiste will pick the song they think will be their next hit.

Over the past few weeks, we witnessed John Legend, Jonas Brothers, will.i.am, Kelsea Ballerini, Meghan Trainor and lately Aloe Blacc appear as featured artistes and find their next new single. Last week Kyle Williams won the episode, his song will be recorded by Blacc and it will feature as a soundtrack in the forthcoming Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw movie that stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Though the series revealed they will continue to air the previous episodes till the hiatus is over, fans are sad they won't get to see new episodes. "I'm sad that SongLand is on break," wrote a fan on Twitter.

"My favorite background show this summer is Songland, and I just found out it won't be on for 5 weeks!, boooooo," said another fan. While Songland is on its hiatus, and moving to a new time, NBC's 'Bring The Funny' will take its place on the Tuesday night slot after America's Got Talent, and a few fans are not in favor of it.

"@nbc Please bring back @NBCSongland as much as I love Chrissy I can’t get into @bringthefunny #bringbacksongland #songland #nbc," said a fan on Twitter. While another added, "Did they really pause #songland til August for this awful comedy show? #bringonthefinny."

'Songland' airs every Wednesday night at 9 pm on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
