New Year's Eve concerts have long been a sought-after way to welcome the new year and that too with love, positivity, hope and revelry. But these events come with their share of controversies. SMTown Live 'Culture Humanity', SM entertainment's mega concert drew major flak with its roster of singing superstars. Their list didn't feature Sehun and Chanyeol as EXO’s sub-group EXO-SC. Even though the news has been out for over a week now, the fans were riled up another time when other artists were singing Chanyeol's popular number titled "Yours."

K-pop fans ganged up to express how sorely Chanyeol was being missed and that it was unfair to have others sing his songs. Most thought that his "absence" from the free concert didn't make sense and was not normal, while others couldn't stop praising DJ Raiden who assured Chanyeol's admirers that he was fine. "Oh Btw Loey is doing good," Raiden tweeted, while plenty of viewers criticized what went down at the event.

"Disappointed over the fact that Sehun and Chanyeol weren't there. They have always been given the bare minimum, fact that they've worked hard to compose and create their own songs. Despite, their talent, skills and potential they still aren't given the recognition they deserve," a user tweeted while another pointed out: "The amount of disrespect to Chanyeol is too much and that's why I'm mad right now. The song he made with his friend was performed by someone else. They didn't even include his name even though his vocals were used in the background."

"They have other songs to perform (songs of artists in the line up) why Yours though? Are they setting up that rookie singer? We hate you even more now @SMTOWNGLOBAL Yours belongs to Raiden, Chanyeol, Lee Hi, and Changmo," a fan commented, while another wrote: "Lemme get this straight if YOURS was performed without Lee hi and Changmo, it's normal since they are not under SM. but the fact that Chanyeol is an active artist under SM and his song is being sung by some other SM artist, it is dead-ass wrong. this is not how it should be." "It's not normal. Chanyeol is an ACTIVE IDOL. His absence is not normal," a user shared.

Chanyeol's popularity and personal life

At just 27 years, Chanyeol enjoys a jet-setting life which stems from the fact that he's such a household name globally. He is an actor, singer, producer, model, and property owner, which puts his net worth at $8 million, Kami.com reported. Over the years, this EXO member has earned awards and recognition that only some can imagine and just like that he was one of the most popular and loved celebrities in the world.

Therefore, it wouldn't be wrong to assume that the celebrated K-pop icon is focused to get more work done and that explains why he's single. However, before he joined the group, Chanyeol was dating flight attendant Kwak Saebyul. However, they broke up before he began his glorious run with the band.
