Slayer extend farewell tour with new North American dates
The band announces 20 new dates with Lamb of God, Anthrax and Napalm Death. The shows were added by popular demand since tickets to the first leg sold out faster than expected.
One of the 'Big Four' of thrash metal, Slayer, recently announced that they are calling it quits after “one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all the support over the years.” Now, Slayer have just announced another leg of North American tour dates for their final tour. Adding to their already announced May and June shows, Slayer will be extending their run into July and August with another massive string of arena and amphitheater gigs, reports Loudwire.

The extra shows were added due to popular demand considering the fact that 12 shows on the first leg of the tour, which starts in May and continues through the end of June, are already sold out. "We were blown away by the speed of sales for the final run," Rick Franks, President of Touring for Live Nation, said in a statement. "36 years later and Slayer is bigger than ever before."
Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Testament will support Slayer as opening acts, just like the first leg of the tour. But Behemoth, who will be joining Slayer for the first leg of the tour, will be replaced by Napalm Death. "It is irrefutable that Slayer helped create the genre of aggressive metal, and all modern bands of that ilk owe them a huge debt," Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe said in a statement. "To be asked to be a part of their final tour – well, it just makes you stop and realize just how lucky you are."
The new stretch kicks off in on the East Coast this July in Gilford, New Hampshire and wraps up in August in San Jose, California, after passing through a string Mid West venues including Grand Rapids, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia; San Antonio, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; and beyond.
