‘Shark Tank’ Season 12: Barbara and Mark grab the Holiball deal, why didn't the founders want Lori and Daymond?
Haven't planned what to do for Christmas? It's time to get Holiball. A UV-resistant engineered durable and lightweight material built to withstand crisp sun rays and pouring rains, it is available in 23 eye-catching colors and can be hung outdoors from a tree branch or inside your house from a ceiling with the help of an elegant hoop or a fan.
Holiball was founded and created by three cousins — Kristy Moore, Jennifer Couch, and Amberly Hall. Kevin O' Leary asks the three entrepreneurs, "So which one of you Holiballs started this thing up? I have lots of crazy ideas but last summer, we wanted to do something crazy together. I shared this idea of the inflated ornament and it sparked their interest as well."
While Kevin says no to the deal, Barbara Corcoran takes the lead, saying, "I'm gonna make you an offer right now. So I'm gonna give you $150,000 but I want 25 percent." She then lays out a warning: "But I don't want you to shop it around. I'm not sure Lori has an offer but I'd like to beat her out. So you have to answer me but you can't entertain other offers please." All the other Sharks go "Woah!" But Barbara sticks to her rule.
Putting them in a tough spot, Barbara left them hanging. Defending her stance, she said it's a "fair deal". But Daymond John cut in and soon teamed up with Lori Leiner. To counter that offer, Barbara teamed up with Mark Cuban. The three cousins picked Barbara and Mark! When asked why did they go with them, they said it was a "gut feeling". They later added, "Barbara believed in us right from the beginning."
Fans feel they didn't want a deal with Daymond and Lori. "I have a theory why they didn't want a deal with Daymond and Lori," one tweet read and another posted, "I would have gone w Lori and Daymond allllll day but congrats to them!" One fan was intrigued, "The offers are flying by and strategic partnerships are being formed! This is exciting!" And another joked, "Everyone partners up except for Kevin."
Another viewer wrote: "I missed why they're awesome... They're not just novelty-sized?? It's a fabulous product, I would put it in my front yard and inside even if my house was huge. Innovative idea for the holidays and events #Holiball #SharkTank."
