‘Shark Tank’ fans praise Lori for calling out a 'chauvinist' entrepreneur and slam other sharks for laughing off her concerns

Lori Greiner of 'Shark Tank' fame had a bad experience with an entrepreneur on the show, and fans were disappointed to see none of her fellow sharks stand up for her or defend her.

The recently aired episode 6 of ‘Shark Tank’ saw Lori Greiner losing her cool for the first time at an entrepreneur pitching on the show. It all began when  Dr. Sarath Malepati came on the show to pitch his five-day immune support pack called EZC Pak. Malepati made his pitch explaining how the doctors prescribed a lot more antibiotics than needed owing to consumer preference and thus compromised the health of the patients.

Mark Cuban wasn’t buying the doctor’s pitch and called him out saying that the product wouldn’t work, even before the entire pitch was done. But unfortunately, the doctor was so stuck up on Mark’s harsh criticism that he kept trying to engage Mark and, in this process, when Lori tried talking to the entrepreneur to understand his product better, she ended up getting offended. Lori felt that she wasn’t being considered and that Malepati was a “chauvinist” because he wouldn’t make any eye-contact with her or engage in discussion with her but instead kept looking at Mark all the time.

When Lori aired out her grievances, the other sharks-  Cuban, Kevin O'Leary, and Daniel Lubetzky,  just laughed it off and went on with hearing the pitch and tried to see if it fit their portfolio.

Fans didn’t like that Lori was left out in cold to defend herself and none of her fellow sharks stood by her or tried to understand her perspective. A fan wrote, “@LoriGreiner @ABCSharkTank I have to say, I’m really surprised and very disappointed your fellow sharks were not more supportive. @robertherjavec was the only one who really had your back! #Sharktank”. Another fan tweeted, “@LoriGreiner does it not bother you that the men beside you dont stand up for you against a #chauvinist ? Disliking #sharktank more each day.”

Most fans didn’t like that the other sharks were so apathetic towards her. “He was totally rude, and the male sharks defended him!!!!!” Several fans appreciated Lori for standing up for herself and highlighting how poorly women are treated in the business world. A fan expressed, “@ABCSharkTank Thank you @LoriGreiner for calling out his chauvinism! Even when you were speaking directly to him the look on his face showed that he was annoyed and disinterested. I hate that the other sharks basically laughed off your concerns; very disappointing. The guy was a total jerk.” Another fan shared, “You go Lori. Good for you for calling him out and standing up for yourself and other women! #Sharktank”.

New episodes of 'Shark Tank' season 11 air at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
