K-pop group Monsta X is back with their 11th mini-album ‘Shape Of Love’ right before the US leg of their fourth world tour in May. The six-track album is all about love, just like their first Billboard charting English-language album. ‘Shape Of Love’ is member Jooheon aka Joohoney’s third title track in a row that has fans praising his producing skills as he switches genres for a sophisticated jazzy track. We also had Hyungwon teaming up with DJ R3HAB for ‘Burning Up’ while ‘Wildfire’ has been made by him, Jooheon and I.M. The youngest, I.M. closes the album with his self-made track ‘AND’.

And with ‘Shape Of Love’ discussing the emotion and proving Monsta X’s love for their fans, Monbebes (Monsta X’s fandom) decided to show their support by making the album the group's best-selling one yet. Having only been released on April 26, ‘Shape of Love’ has garnered 171k sales over the first 10 hours. It is a whopping 1000x increase from the first-day sales of their debut album 'Trespass' back in 2015. Their slow and steady rise is further evident as Monsta X topped Bugs, their first #1 on a major Korean music streaming chart.

Monsta X’s ‘Shape Of Love’ their best-selling album yet

‘Shape Of Love’ has now become Monsta X’s highest-selling album on the first day, a record which was held by the previous album ‘No Limit’ for 110k sales. This has also led to Monsta X having a total of 2.5 million album sales on Hanteo in their 7-year music career. ‘Shape Of Love’ also did well internationally as it debuted at #1 on the Worldwide and European iTunes Album charts. It also topped iTunes Albums Chart in 16 countries like Brazil and Thailand. The album is constantly doing well as it has reached 210k sales on day 2 while Monsta X topped Melon Artist Chart and Boy Group Chart.

‘Making me so emotional’

Monbebes are cheering for Monsta X as one fan tweeted, “It’s entirely INSANE for me to think that mx’s debut album, trespass, sold 126 copies within the first 24 hours. Now, they LITERALLY just sold 171.874 albums, in the same amount of time. This is what hard work and organic growth translates to. I am SO PROUD.” Another fan posted, “Pure king behavior.” One Monbebe commented, “This is actually making me emotional.”

Another flexed, “You're so golden.” One fan joked, “Why do mx always chart their highest when they're sleeping i'm starting to see a pattern.” Another Monbebe said, “Their highest charting on k platform and highest first day sales?????? The growth is making me so emotional because it proves that Monstas are here to stay!!!!!!”
