Senior White House members reportedly considered sabotaging President Donald Trump and his administration, in an attempt to prompt his resignation, according to an anonymous insider's tell-all book on the Trump White House.

A copy of the book titled 'A Warning', written by a 'senior official in the Trump administration' identified as 'Anonymous', was obtained by CNN ahead of its release on Tuesday. The anonymous White House official is the same one who wrote an explosive op-ed for the New York Times in 2018, claiming to be "part of the resistance" inside Trump's White House.

According to the outlet's review, although the book is "sparse on revelations" in part because of the author's efforts to conceal their identity, it details a White House riddled with distrust of the president, and talks of insubordination.

The claims made in the book were rejected by the White House after the announcement of its release. Press Secretary Stephanie Graham had said that the accounts of the book "presents a portrait that is the exact opposite of what the President actually is."

The author claimed that multiple top officials brainstormed ways to expedite Trump's resignation, with some advisers allegedly suggested pressuring aides to encourage Trump to fire former special counsel Robert Muller. Muller was overseeing the Russian investigation and Trump campaign's alleged attempts to collude with Russia to influence the 2016 poll.

"As one [adviser] said, the President's inclinations are so bad that perhaps we should 'give him enough rope' to entangle his own presidency," one passage read. "The advisor [sic] suggested letting him fire the special counsel and Justice Department leadership. He seemed eager enough to do it. If aides helped him follow his instincts, they speculated, it would lead to his downfall.'

The author also alleged that multiple members of the Trump administration are prepared to leave their posts at any moment and have their resignations ready. "We all have draft resignation letters in our desks or on our laptops," the anonymous aide wrote.
