While a few nations are slowly limping back to normalcy after being under the lockdown for weeks in a row due to the novel coronavirus, the rest have no choice but to continue remaining in isolation until the curve is flattened.

Making use of a not so ideal situation, the ‘Feel Me’ singer Selena Gomez is putting her culinary skills to work by participating in a cooking show, 'Selena + Chef', which is set to premiere on HBO Max.

Release date

'Selena + Chef' is a 10-episode long show that will premiere on May 27 on HBO Max.

Format

HBO Max’s 'Selena + Chef' will follow Gomez as she experiments with a variety of cuisines.

The Network’s official statement reads, “Since social distancing at home, Selena has been spending more time in the kitchen than she ever imagined. But despite her many talents, it remains to be seen if cooking is one of them. This casual, funny, and informative series will embrace both the struggle and the joy of learning to cook — while inviting audiences to follow along at home."

Besides Selena, the show will also see a list of master chefs grace our screens as they join the singer remotely on her show, sharing tips on cooking and handling the kitchen. The names of the guests aren't available still.

News

Meanwhile, Gomez is quite thrilled about her new project as she said, "I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. "I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen."

Showrunners

Gomez will be serving as the executive producer along with Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman. The trio previously collaborated for Netflix's docuseries ‘Living Undocumented’.
