LONDON, ENGLAND: Netflix's latest biographical movie, 'Scoop', is a dramatization of the struggles suffered by the women of Newsnight to secure the bombshell interview with Prince Andrew (Rufus Sewell) in 2019.

The film, which is helmed by Philip Martin, draws inspiration from Sam McAlister's book 'Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interviews', with her being instrumental in obtaining the interview as well.

The film does a good job of capturing the kind of negotiations the women went through in order to get an interview with Prince Andrew, which can easily be termed the biggest controversy involving the Royal family in contemporary times.

Following the release of disturbing information about Jeffrey Epstein's pedophilia and Prince Andrew's questionable relationship with him, the Newsnight ladies set out to question the British Royal member.

After much negotiation with the Buckingham Palace establishment, they finally landed an interview with Prince Andrew.

Prince Andrew is shown being questioned by seasoned news journalist Emily Maitlis (Gillian Anderson) at the interview table.

She questions him directly about Virginia Roberts, but he denies knowing anything about her while displaying a tense demeanor.

The interviewer doesn't back down and quotes Virginia's assertions that they dined, danced, and ate together in 2001, but he rejects them. He goes so far as to say that he doesn't even sweat because he has an excess of adrenaline.

Finally, Emily asks him if he wants to say anything more, offering him another opportunity to admit his error, but he doesn't offer much.

Prince Andrew was certain that the interview would only restore his reputation, which had been damaged by the shocking disclosure of his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

The internet and his phone went crazy the night of the interview broadcast and his phone kept ringing with notifications, which probably wasn't what he had anticipated.

After a few days, Esme Wren (Romola Garai) reads the royal order in front of Emily, Sam McAlister (Billie Piper), and the entire Newsnight crew.

It contains the news that the prince is resigning from his royal duties and has issued a public apology for his connections to Epstein.

Finally, Esme delivers a stirring address, declaring that Newsnight has stood for and will continue to stand up for every victim who lacks a voice.

At last, Sam is seen grinning broadly as she strolls down the street, having succeeded in revealing the sinister visage of a powerful man.

'Scoop' is now streaming on Netflix
