Florida teen brutally beaten by bullies on school bus after he wore Trump 2020 hat, mom shares attack video

The 14-year-old boy's mother said he had stopped wearing the hat because he was embarrassed. However, the bullying did not stop
UPDATED DEC 13, 2019

HAMILTON COUNTY, FLORIDA: A shocking video has emerged showing a 14-year-old boy getting beaten up on a school bus allegedly because he had worn a hat supporting POTUS Donald Trump.

The incident took place on November 21 in Hamilton County in Florida. The video first emerged on Thursday, December 12, after the boy's family consulted an attorney, Foye B Walker, for possible legal action.

The incident had left the boy identified as Tyler with severe head injuries. He had to be hospitalized with head contusions, his mother shared on her Twitter handle, @AmericanDiaries.

The attorney verified in a tweet that the incident had taken place on a school bus and that he was representing the family. The child's mother took to Twitter to explain that she believed the bullies had been motivated by a Trump 2020 campaign hat that her son had worn earlier to the school.

She shared that the child had stopped wearing the hat because he was embarrassed. However, the bullying did not stop.

The mother wrote, "To be clear, my son bought his Trump 2020 hat with his own money at the flea market a few weeks ago. He was proud to wear it. He wore it to school, but due to immediate bullying he put it away & didn't wear it to school again, sadly the damage was already done & [he] was now a target."

She continued, "From that point on he was steadily getting messed with. He was getting hit, tripped & verbally abused on the bus, but it all came to a head yesterday on his bus ride home."

The mother also shared that when her son was examined after the incident, nurses found older bruising marks along with the new injuries.

"He didn't tell us about the bullying, but they took it to a new level yesterday and we are just now learning what he was going through," the mother shared.

The video shows three girls and two boys, all teens, viciously attacking the child who is seen cowering to protect himself. Tyler's mother believes that the attack was racially motivated.

The mother tweeted, "Plain and simple this was a hate crime and attempted murder according to the state of Florida since it was over three kids that jumped him and these kids are older and larger."

She also revealed that she had reached out to the police as well as the school district and that the children involved had been suspended.
