'What’s with the other?’: Fans slam 'villain' James Holzhaeur for playing mind games with Andrew He ahead of ‘Jeopardy! Masters' semifinals
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Jeopardy! Masters' 2023 tournament is in its last leg, with the remaining four contestants expected to battle it out in the two semifinals on May 22 and May 23. There will be one more contestant whose journey will end in the semifinals, while the remaining three will fight for the $500,000 and Trebek Trophy in the finals on May 24, 2023. Andrew, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, and self-described game show villain James Holzhaeur have emerged as the Top 4 and Ken Jennings is pumped to host the last few episodes of the tournament.
The adrenaline is pumping and James Holzhaeur seems to have taken the spirit of competition a little too far. James has proclaimed himself as the show’s villain who will use any tactics to mess up the flow of his rivals. And the man is sorely fulfilling his promise. In his recent Twitter post, James took a jab at Andrew He, who is James’ biggest threat in the game show. His dig at Andrew has evoked multiple reactions from fans who are divided — whether to praise his witty acumen or criticize him for his unjust jab at Andrew.

“What’s with the other?”
James took to his Twitter account and posted a poll, allowing his followers to pick their favorite contestants going into the semifinals. While he wrote Matt’s and Mattea’s names alongside his name in the poll, Andrew’s name had been intentionally written as "other". James’ poll read, "The #JeopardyMasters semifinals start tonight! Who’s taking home the Trebek Trophy?

Die-hard ‘Jeopardy!’ fans, who keep track of gameshow’s every news, saw James’s post and realized his cunningness and mental strategy to diss Andrew and make him feel inferior. They didn’t stop there. Instead, they made their voices heard on Twitter. A fan wrote on James’ post, "LOL 'other.' Top-level trolling James!” while another fan reminded him of a bitter truth. "You sure do talk a lot for someone who's 0-for-7 on Final Jeopardy [in the special].”
Another user joked, "Andrew He who must not be named.” One fan wrote, "Lol 'Other.' I guess I'd take that as a measure of respect.” But the one fan who called out James’ intention to it full measure said, “What's with the 'Other?' We all know that there are four contestants. Say his name!”

The master of trolls
James loves to trash talk. During one of the ‘Jeopardy!’ Masters’ episodes, he asked host Ken Jennings to “keep it in his pants” after the game show host took a playful jab at him. He’s no stranger to using props to make his statement. Lately, he brought a custom-made Tournament of Champions belt to the gameshow and pretended to hit Andrew with it when he joked about James still having $0 during the show. For now, James is at the top of the leaderboard and looks the most likely contestant to win ‘Jeopardy! Masters' 2023.
