Gemma has been struggling with the lump on her shoulder for a long time and finally felt the need of getting rid of it. She first discovered the lump five years ago and it has been growing since then. While it does not hurt on being touched, it does cause her pain when she moves her shoulder.

To make things worse, she is also unable to move properly. Apart from her daily activity, one thing that bothers Gemma is how the condition affects her chances of getting pregnant and being a mother. Gemma revealed that she is extremely fond of children and would love to have a child of her own.

Wanting to have two children, Gemma knows that she won't be able to take the responsibility of becoming a mother until she gets rid of the lump on her shoulder. She recalled that on the occasion of Mother's Day, she cried the whole day.

With Gemma being 33 years old, she revealed that she does not have much time if she wants to start a family and have two children. This is why Gemma decided to visit Dr Emma Craythorne with the hopes that she would be able to help her.

Dr Craythorne examined the lump on her shoulder and decided to take scans to know more about its position. She realized that the lump was situated in an area that covered the nerve that connects the shoulder and the head. Dr Craythorne revealed that it was lymphoma — a collection of fat tissue.

Dr Craythorne said that since the condition was not serious, Gemma could just let the lump be. However, Gemma knew how important it was for her to finally say goodbye to the lump. Dr Craythorne understood what Gemma was feeling and suggested that it would be best if she underwent surgery to remove the lump.

Dr Craythorne suggested that her friend perform the surgery as he was well-versed in the area. Finally, the day arrived when Gemma had to undergo the surgery. Even though she was nervous, she knew it was something that had to be done. Fortunately, the surgery was successful and Gemma visited Dr Craythorne again after a couple of months.

Dr Craythorne was happy to see the result and so was Gemma. Gemma knew that with the lump gone, she could now look forward to being a mother and starting a new life.

'Save My Skin' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on TLC.
