'Saturday Night Live' did not disappoint its fans by taking a political dig at the ongoing impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. The show took viewers on a ride in their cold segment by talking about the "trial you wish had happened". Kenan Thompson led the court session by playing the role of Judge Greg Mathis as he pushed Supreme Court Justice John Roberts aside.

"We are calling witnesses because that's how a damn trial works," he announced before inviting a series of witnesses to come and speak on the issue. One of the witnesses was John Bolton played by Cecily Strong. An introductory for Bolton read, "Book for sale on Amazon now".

When Mathis demanded Bolton to answer why he took so long to open about the things he knew, Bolton was quick to say, "I am a messy bit** who loves drama". Unfortunately, Bolton refused to give out any more details that one could read in the book. Disappointed, Mathis went on to invite the next witness - Hunter Biden played by Pete Davidson.

Biden brought to attention that Trump's children had cashed in on his name and were long gone. But the trial did not really start until Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, entered the courtroom. In a cheeky nod to Harvey Weinstein's trial in which the entertainment mogul was seen walking with the help of a walker, Trump could be seen doing the same.

Trump admitted that there were a couple of things that were common between him and Weinstein but the President decided to limit his words on the topic. Surprisingly, Mathis made sure that Trump admitted every wrong deed that he had done during his time in the office.

Mathis found Trump guilty and sentenced him to a $10,000 fine but it wasn't the worse of the punishment for him. The biggest punishment for Trump was to say nice things about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "Fine, her body's an 8," Trump said.

'Saturday Night Live' airs on Saturdays at 11:30 pm ET on NBC.
