The new episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’ is here. Earlier in the week, it was announced that Adele will be helming the hosting duties for this episode with HER as the musical guest. While this announcement did get fans excited, their other announcement of adding a sixth episode, scheduled to be aired on November 7, also surprised many.

Originally, it was planned that five consecutive episodes from October 3 through October 31 would be aired. This seems to be good news for the fans of the long-running sketch show. Coming back to this week’s episode, the October 22 debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden was recreated in the cold open with the usual cast reprising their roles – Alec Baldwin as Trump and Jim Carrey as Joe Biden. Maya Rudolph played the moderator Kristen Welker.

Adele donning an all-black outfit – a black top and black pants – gave a monologue which touched upon the most talked about topics – her new album and her weight loss. The Grammy winner said, “I know that that there has been a lot of chatter about me just being the host. I have seen all of it. Why isn't she the musical guest and stuff like that? There are a couple of reasons. My album is not finished. I also am too scared to do both.” She added, “I would rather just put on some wigs – and this is all mine by the way (referring to her hair) – have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens.” She further said, “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me. But actually, because of all the Covid restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me. And this is the half I chose.”

The singer concluded her monologue by thanking the frontline workers in the audience, “They say that once you been to New York you keep a little piece of it in your heart forever, so I give it up to you and give it up to your service as well.”

Soon fans were discussing about Adele's unfinished album and, of course, the monologue. One user said, “Me checking @Adele’s Spotify page immediately after #SNL finished hoping she was kidding about not finishing her album.” A fan wrote: “Adele not dropping a new album to pair with her hosting duties on #SNL offends me.” One commented, “we may not get an album this year but hearing adele’s voice in 2020 is something so special bye i miss her.” Another fan stated, “I’m going to have to make do with my three @Adele CDs until her new album comes out.” A user tweeted, “Adele aint gona release that album until next year but people gona be living off those damn SNL singing clips lol. She a tease.” A fan requested, "no but adele pls give us the album. #SNL."
