Sabrina Lekaj's 11-year-old brother pays tribute to 'beautiful big sister' stabbed to death by own father

The little brother of Sabrina Lekaj, the medical student who was allegedly stabbed to death by her own father, spoke about his "beautiful, big sister" during her funeral in Adelaide on Wednesday.

Mourners at Sabrina's funeral looked on with grief as her 11-year-old brother Pyrrhus and mother Romina Lekaj recalled "the wonderful years" they spent with their "darling girl."

Sabrina was found dead in the front seat of her Mercedes-Benz sedan car seat just a few meters away from her family home in Kidman Park, Adelaide at around 11:30 pm on July 22. Her father, 49-year-old Petrit Lekaj, was also found beside her with a stab wound.

Officers reportedly had to smash the vehicle's window to drag the father out of the car, who had a serious abdominal injury. South Australian police took him to a hospital where he continues to remain under police guard after being charged with his daughter's murder.

During Sabrina's funeral, no one mentioned the family's tragedy, instead her friends and family focused on the good times they had spent with her, according to the Daily Mail.

Pyrrhus, during the ceremony, said: "The last thing she said was 'I love you and I'll see you later.'  She was very smart and always influenced me to become more than what I am, to help me with my studies and become successful in life because that's what she would want."

"My sister was very loving and caring, we always went everywhere together. We used to go to the shops, the park," he said.  "We used to hang out in each other's rooms and watch TV together. We used to vent a lot and talk to each other about our problems."

While Sabrina's mother recalled how her beautiful daughter had touched many lives and said that she only wanted to focus on the "good times."

"My darling daughter, you have not left us - you will always be here with us. You were so beautiful, so smart and you touched so many lives," a teary Romina said. "We are all very sad to have lost Sabrina, but I want to focus on the good times. I want to remember the first night I took you home from the hospital."

"I want to remember the first day of child care when you turned and said: 'Don't pick me up until 3pm, ok?" her mother continued. "I want to remember the first time I took you to piano and at the end you said to your teacher: 'Can I come back tomorrow and the next day?' I want to remember your graduation, when we spent hours doing your hair."

Sabrina was a talented pianist and was awarded multiple prizes in classical piano. Her funeral service began with a clip of her playing the piano.
