The coronavirus pandemic doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. With numerous countries reporting new cases every day, the situation is getting more dire despite strict rules and regulations from governments.

In this gloomy scenario, Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively decided to bring some cheer. Reynolds took to Instagram and penned a post about the virus and how it has affected older adults and low-income families. He mentioned that he and Blake would be donating 1 million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. He wrote, "Covid 19 has brutally impacted older adults and lower income families. Blake and I are donating 1 million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. If you can give, these orgs need our help. Take care of our bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who's isolated and might need connection."

Of course, Reynolds being Reynolds, couldn't help making a sly dig at Hugh Jackman. At the end of the post, he wrote, "Hugh Jackman's # is 1-555 HUGH."

Lively wrote a similar post as well. She did add, " Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don't have the opportunity to self-quarantine, we can stay connected. Remember the lonely and isolated. Facetime, Skype and make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all this. Communities are stepping up, shopping for the elderly, making lunches for children. We can do something for one another, even if that's simply staying home. Sending so much love."

She playfully attacked Reynolds in the last line, "Someone please tell Ryan that "emotional distancing" from his mother-in-law is not a thing. Nothing can save him."

This news comes a day after Reynolds and Lively had announced that their Mint Cell phone company is giving free service to customers amidst the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Idris Elba has tested positive for coronavirus. He tweeted, "This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing No panic," he wrote.
