'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12: Widow Von'Du's powerful lipsync to Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' leaves fans in awe

Taking to Twitter post the episode, fans called Widow's performance a powerful one and affirm she is the lipsync assassin

'Drag Race' season is here, and the first set of the new drag queens sashayed into the workroom on Friday night. 

'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 12 premiered on Friday night, and the girls get ready to battle it out against each other, hoping for a chance to make it to the Drag Race Hall of Fame. Apart from that, the drag queens are also battling it out for a chance to win the title of America's Next Drag Superstar, $100,000, a crown, and a year-long supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics.

With an overall of 13 girls battling it out this season, RuPaul reveals that the series will be having two premieres. During the first premiere that aired on Friday night, we were introduced to the first seven contestants. While overall the premiere wasn't as dramatic as previous seasons, but the initial moment when the queens met each other, did provide for some intense scenes. 

The first seven contestants we were introduced to were — Brita, Gigi Goode, Nicky Doll, Heidi N Closet, Widow Von'Du, Jackie Cox, and Crystal Methyd.

For their first mini-challenge of the season, the girls were tasked with slaying spring and fall looks on the runway for 'fashion week'. For their main challenge the girls had to perform a rap based on their own drag persona to a new single titled, 'I’m That Bitch'. If the queens weren't already nervous, RuPaul revealed that the guest judge for the premiere week was none other than famed rapper, Nicki Minaj. 

Overall, their rap challenge was nothing less than excellent with Widow and Heidi standing out amongst the rest. Sharing their critiques, Nicki was most impressed with Brita. Once the deliberations were done, RuPaul revealed Brita, Jackie, Crystal, Nicki, and Heidi safe, leaving Widow and Gigi assuming they are in the bottom. But instead RuPaul revealed that they were the top 2 contestants this week, and will have to lipsync for the win. 

Lip Syncing to Nicki Minaj's 'Starships', Widow went hard and wild as she ripped her outfit to reveal an celestial two-piece. While Gigi went for a more comical version for her lipsync, Widow brought her best foot forward and went out from the start to the end of her performance. Calling it an epic battle, RuPaul revealed that Widow was the winner of this week, and she received a $5000 prize. 

Taking to Twitter post the episode fans called Widow's lipsync a powerful one and affirm she is the lipsync assassin. "That b*tch slayed that lipsync! #DragRaceseason12 #DragRace," a fan wrote. 

"WIDOW YOU  ARE  THE  MOTHER  F*CKER  LIPSYNC ASSASSIN  #DragRace," a fan shared. While another added, "Omg this episode was so good. And the lipsync. Omg this seasons gonna be wild. #DragRace." 

"Widooooow!!!! B*tch you did the damn thang! @TheWidowVonDu #DragRace," a fan shared. Adding to that another said, "Geez...! That lipsync! What a powerful season so far! (And that was just the first damn episode). #DragRace." 

"Widow Von’Du just made me love “Starships” #DragRace," a fan wrote. Another added saying, "WIDOW SWIFFERED THE FLOOR WITH HER TAINT we love to see it #DragRace."

"This is a Widow Von Du stan account! PERIODT!!! #DragRace," a fan shared.
