Married high school teacher facing criminal charges for sex romps with two teen students during after-school hours
Rochester High School special ed-teacher, Kathryn Houghtaling, has been charged with six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct soon after she was fired from the school for her inappropriate actions. The teacher, who is married, was reported to have been allegedly involved in sexual relations with two of her students, aged 16 and 17. A notice from Rochester Community Schools confirmed on Tuesday, January 8 that the teacher was fired following a district-led investigation.
The former staff was scheduled to be called in at 52-3 District Court on six counts, according to Oakland County Undersheriff, Michael McCabe. According to district representatives, the alleged incidents took place after school hours and off school property, but the news was enough to have made her neighbors uncomfortable. One of the teenage victims was a student in one of her classes, according to prosecutors who also say the alleged incidents took place between November 1 and December 31.
