'Riverdale' Season 4 Episode 6 Review: Hiram's back, there's danger heading Coopers' way and Cheryl's Julain Horror story continues

‘Hereditary’ is an interesting watch. It takes time to set the ball rolling but when it does, the odds are almost impossible to fathom.

This review contains spoilers for ‘Riverdale’ Season 4 Chapter Sixty Three: ‘Hereditary’

Halloween may be done but not for the people of Riverdale. ‘Hereditary’ is one of those haunting episodes that lived up to its promise of being scary just like it showed in the promos. At this point, it's quite hard to say what has been the scariest plotline. Is it the fact that Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) is out there, free and scheming again? Is it Cheryl Blossom’s (Madelaine Petsch) devilish encounters with Julian the doll?

Or is it Mr. Chipping jumping out of a window seemingly killing himself? Or is it the fact that Archie’s nemesis is almost murdered at the end of the episode? The Gargoyle King, Chic Cooper (Hart Denton), is still alive and 'horrors horrors' is the expression when it is revealed that he and Charles (Wyatt Nash) are actually a couple and it looks like they’re out to get the Coopers.

Things seem to be looking bleak for Jughead (Cole Sprouse) as the series rolls on because this whole Baxter Brothers novel business looks serious and dangerous and is sure to be the main cause behind his whole death business. Cheryl’s Julian drama just climbed the fear factor ladder a rung higher.

The Lodge family drama has been the most bizarre one ever. Just how can hate sex be the solution to bringing the family back together? While the steamy scene between Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) and Hiram means more of Riverdale senior couple hookups, it also lends more depth to the Lodge family storyline. And what's with Archie seeking Hiram's help? Come one, man! We both know how that ended!

This perhaps has to be the scariest episodes since Halloween and leaves a lot of questions unanswered. What is Hiram up to now? What awaits the Coopers?  And what will come of Archie in his mission to mop up the streets of Riverdale? ‘Hereditary’ is an interesting watch. It takes time to set the ball rolling, but when it does, the odds are almost impossible to fathom.

‘Riverdale’ airs Wednesdays 8 pm on the CW.
