'Rhythm + Flow': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about Netflix's reality talent show featuring Cardi B

'Rhythm + Flow' a hip-hop talent hunt reality show featuring showrunners Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper is set to make its debut on Netflix. Here is all you need to know about the upcoming reality talent show:

Netflix is very popular for its highly-rated original shows, and stand-up sets. The network has now decided to dip its feet in new uncharted territory — reality talent shows. With 'Rhythm + Flow', Netflix will be making its foray into the popular television genre.

The upcoming show has already garnered a lot of attention with popular rappers like Cardi B, T.I. and Chance the Rapper appearing on the show as judges, and EGOT winner John Legend producing it! Here is all you need to know about the upcoming reality talent show:

Release date

Netflix usually drops all the episodes on a series at the same time. But, they have changed their release format for this show. The show will be released in a span of three weeks. The first four episodes, which will feature auditions will be premiering on Wednesday, October 9 — the first week.

The second week will see the release of rap battles and videos. It is slated for release on Wednesday, October 16. The final third week airing on Wednesday, October 23, will feature samples, collaborations, and finale.

 

Plot

'Rhythm + Flow' is a talent hunt reality show, where the judges Cardi B, T.I., and Chance the Rapper will travel across hip-hop hotspots like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and New York in search of fresh talent. The exact show format details haven't been revealed yet. Netflix's press release describes the show as, "Global superstars Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and Tip "T.I." Harris search for the next hip hop sensation in 'Rhythm + Flow', Netflix's first music competition show. The series brings together industry legends across a multi-city search in hip hop epicenters Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and Chicago, to find raw talent and help undiscovered artistes pursue their come up."

Cardi B

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar or Cardi B, as she is popularly known, is a hit rapper, who became an internet sensation after her vines and Instagram posts went viral. 'Rhythm + Flow' isn't the first time that the Grammy winner will be gracing the small screen. She was a regular cast member of VH1's hit reality franchise 'Love & Hip-Hop: New York'. In an Instagram video, Cardi B revealed what she was looking for "that diamond in the rough". "I'm looking for somebody that when I'm going to my car I'm gonna remember their music, I'm gonna remember their face, I'm gonna remember their personality. We wanna find you, we wanna discover you," said the famous rapper.

T.I.

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. aka T.I. will also be judging the competition. T.I. is very well known in the hip-hop community and has his own record label called Grand Hustle Records. The rapper promoted the shown on his Instagram page with a video that showed him calling out all the talented artistes. He also shared that the show will explore "all of the hoods, all the studios, all the nightclubs. Even the barbershops if necessary to find the next unreleased, underground hip-hop superstar." 

Chance the Rapper

Chancelor Jonathan Bennett or Chance the Rapper is a popular rapper. His mixtape 'Acid Rain' earned him fame. He won three Grammy Awards for his next mixtape 'Coloring Book'.

Harris. John Legend is the first black man to have won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT) awards!
