'RHOSLC': Jen Shah tells teen son that kissing can give him AIDS, fans call it 'disgusting and ignorant'

'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' premiered on Bravo this week and it's leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the fans of the franchise are able to make the most of their viewing time. The season began with Jen Shah introducing her family -- husband Sharrieff, sons Sharrieff Jr, 26, and Omar, 16.

It is a regular family that enjoys a good and lengthy breakfast discussion but that got out of hand when Jen began enquiring if Omar has ever sexted or kissed a girl. He continued to shake his head and denied all claims as Jen warned him that kissing could give him herpes, even AIDS. 

Everyone at the table had a good laugh, while Jen wondered if she had said something inappropriate. She was only looking out for her child but turns out that for that to happen she must have the correct information first. Fans have slammed her for being "ignorant" because AIDS, according to World Health Organization, cannot be contracted via kissing. The agency's website reads: "Individuals cannot become infected through ordinary day-to-day contact such as kissing, hugging, shaking hands, or sharing personal objects, food or water." 

Meanwhile, viewers couldn't stop trolling Jen. "That AIDS comment was fuking disgusting and ignorant. #RHOSLC," a user tweeted. Another asked: "Did this @$$ just tell her teenage son he could get AIDS from kissing a girl?!? #RHOSLC." "I mean was I the only offended by the aids comment? That was not accidental. #RHOSLC," a fan commented. "Not even 5 minutes in and these hoes are already on the ignorant shit. Telling her son he can get AIDS from kissing. Smh. Dumb b***h. #RHOSLC," another echoed.

"#RHOSLC: jen is already so easy to love. she has no filter whatsoever. but sis, you don't gets AIDS from kissing. herpes but not AIDS," a user gently highlighted the error, while another posted: "We're 10 minutes in and so far I've learned that 1.@TheRealJenShah is considered Black by #SaltLake standards 2. If her teenage son kisses a girl he will get herpes and likely aids. 3. Loving Black men is not aligned to being a good Mormon. #JesusTakeTheWheel #RHOSLC."
