For the longest time, Bravo's hit reality show 'Real Housewives of New York City' was criticized for lacking diversity and representation amongst its cast members. The housewives featured on the show have predominantly been rich, white ladies. Looks like Bravo finally took notice of the feedback it received from its audience, for on Wednesday, the network announced that the first-ever black housewife would be joining as a full-time cast member for the upcoming Season 13 of 'RHONY'.

So, who is the lucky lady you ask, it's Eboni K. Williams. Following the announcement of her being cast on the show, Eboni released a statement saying, "NYC is filled with successful and dynamic Black women. I’m excited to join this legendary franchise as the first Black housewife. Can’t wait to share a slice of life in this city that hasn’t been seen before." She also teased fans about what to expect from her on 'RHONY' adding, "Anyone who’s aware of my work knows I don’t hold back, I’m going to keep it just as real here as I do everywhere else.”

So, aside from making television history, who is Eboni K. Williams? Eboni, 37, is an attorney, who is also the host and executive producer of 'Revolt Black News'. Before making waves in the media industry, Eboni, a native of North Carolina, earned her law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Following which she received her Juris Doctor degree, and specialized in family law and civil litigation. She also was the clerk for Louisiana's Secretary of State and the state's Attorney General. She also briefly worked with FOX News.

In 2017, she released her book titled 'Pretty Powerful: Appearance, Substance & Success'. In her memoir, Eboni argued how being pretty and being capable are not mutually exclusive.  She,in fact, encourages women to take advantage of their beauty as a positive and powerful tool. Eboni will be joining returning cast members – Leah McSweeney, Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan on season 13 of 'RHONY'. We can't wait to see Eboni and the other ladies on the upcoming season.
