‘Real Housewives of New York’: With Bethenny Frankel’s exit, fans think 'RHONY is really tough to watch'
When one thinks of ‘Real Housewives of New York’, the image of Bethenny Frankel immediately flashes before your eyes. Bethenny became an icon and a fan-favorite housewife thanks to her savvy style and the hilarious drama she brings to the screens. Although we have known for a while that Bethenny won’t be returning to Bravo’s hit reality show, we still can’t help but grieve the loss of such an iconic housewife from what can be touted as the best ‘Real Housewives’ franchise of all time.
Season 12 of ‘RHONY’ opened with the housewives waking up to the news of Bethenny announcing that she won’t be returning for filming next season.
Bethenny’s dear friend Dorinda Medley immediately reacts to the news by wondering what she will do without her and remembers all the fun times she had with her former fellow housewife. Sonja Morgan too expresses her sadness over Bethenny’s exit. But not all housewives are sad about it. Countess Luann de Lesseps admits that she isn’t entirely unhappy with Bethenny’s exit. Considering the duo’s troubled past and the relationship we can’t say we are surprised.
On the other hand, Ramona heaves a sigh of relief on learning that Bethenny won’t be returning.
The housewives may have mixed reactions about Bethenny not returning to the show, but most fans seem to unanimously agree that the show isn’t the same without the ‘Skinny Girl’ founder, and took to Twitter to express their sadness over the OG housewife’s absence from the show.
A fan tweeted, “Tough to watch #RHONY without @Bethenny but you can’t help but admire the amazing charity work she’s done for, well, just about everybody in need everywhere lately.” Another fan shared, “@Bethenny so I already know you have to be extremely busy because you are a true philanthropist, but I’m all up in my feelings that you aren’t on #RHONY.”
“I’m missing my favorite housewife of all time @Bethenny on #RHONY tonight but man am I in awe of what she is doing with her life & #bstrong I know you don’t do it for publicity or acknowledgment but the things you do with bstrong are inspiring! You’re a light in a dark time!” commented another fan.
Bethenny announced her exit from the show in August 2019. She revealed that the show’s shifting focus from the housewives’ professional life to social life, pushed her to quit the show.
