'RHOC': Kelly and Shannon's 'insensitive' remarks on Braunwyn's tequila trigger has fans calling them 'trash'

Fans cringed and wondered why Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd couldn't do away with tequila for a night to show their support to Braunwyn

Season 15 of 'Real Housewives of Orange County' is proving to be a very hard season for Braunwyn Windham Burke. After finally acknowledging her alcoholism and addiction, the housewife is keen on making some major changes to her life and work on her addiction issues. Prior to setting off on her recovery journey, Braunwyn expressed her fear of losing her friends and loved ones after she quits consuming alcohol because they wouldn't consider her "fun".

While at that time Braunwyn's fears seemed a bit unrealistic and far-stretched, after watching the latest episode we were forced to reconsider. One would expect that Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd, who have always been close to Braunwyn, would be extremely supportive of her. While Shannon did attempt to be there for Braunwyn initially, she eventually turned her back on Braunwyn after they had a fight over Gina's house rumors. 

Braunwyn invited all her fellow housewives for her vow renewal ceremony but made it clear that she wouldn't be serving tequila at the party because it triggers her. When Kelly and Shannon learned about it, they weren't even remotely pleased. Kelly was so annoyed on learning that there would be no tequila at the party that she compared the situation to a diabetic person not having cake at their party because they are diabetic.

Kelly continued her insensitive remarks rampage by wondering in her green room interview why others should be punished by an alcoholic (Braunwyn) by depriving everybody of tequila just because she (Braunwyn) can't control herself. 

Kelly declares that she isn't a quitter after Shannon suggests stopping by at a liquor store and buying some tequila. The ladies go overboard and buy a huge batch of tequila. Kelly even walked into Braunwyn's party venue with tequila in her hand and declared to her recovering fellow housewife that she has tequila with her.

Shannon also judged Gina Kirschenheiter and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas for going "overboard" with their support for Braunwyn after they declared that they wouldn't be drinking tequila at the party to show their support to the hostess. 

After watching Shannon and Kelly's behavior, fans slammed them for being "insensitive" and "bad friends". A fan tweeted, "Shannon is so self-serving and a bad friend, can’t wait for her to be exposed as a fraud #RHOC." Another fan wrote, "Omg the way Shannon & Kelly are being so insensitive about Braunwyn’s sober options is CRINGEY!!!! It’s *just* alcohol and she’s even being gratuitous having alcohol at the functions. Also that diabetes parallel was literally dumb. #RHOC." 

Several fans wondered why the housewives couldn't do away with tequila for just a night to show their support to a friend. A fan pointed, "I love tequila as much as the next girl but they really can’t go one night without it? Really? #RHOC."

"The most disgusting part of the #RHOC is that Braunwyn’s alcoholism trigger is tequila & the women are upset that there won’t be tequila & want to bring it in anyway. You can literally drink any other alcohol, but you’d rather be a trash human," expressed a fan.

"Kelly is the worst...saying 'im not a quieter', buying tequila when someone says its her tequila and then saying she isnt fun anymore cause she is sober. Im sure it can only get worse when covid hits #RHOC," commented a disgusted fan.
