BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Dorit Kemsley, together with Sharon Stone, launched a campaign to help homeless veterans, foster children, and women experiencing domestic violence obtain the dental treatment they require through the organization Homeless Not Toothless, of which she is a proud board member. Dorit announced the project on Instagram in the spirit of Giving Tuesday but was soon chastised by her followers for the organization's 'tone-deaf' moniker.

The 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' women are typically wealthy and involved in charitable activities. Dorit Kemsley, on the other hand, is involved with a nonprofit called Homeless Not Toothless. Homeless Not Toothless is a non-profit organization that offers free dental care to individuals who are homeless. According to the charity's website, the doctors behind the group have over 30 years of clinical dentistry experience.

Dr. Jay Grossman, the charity's founder, and President established the organization in 1992 in order to give additional assistance to individuals who are homeless. According to the website, Grossman performed more than 100 free surgeries on unhoused individuals within seven months of the charity's inception.

The organization's name does not specify why it was chosen, although it appears to be tied to Grossman's wish to assist homeless persons with missing teeth or dental difficulties. According to a press release, Dorit joined the charitable organization's board of directors in 2021.

Many people have commented on Dorit's post, asking why there is a charity that concentrates on dental work for homeless people but does not attempt to alleviate the root cause of homelessness. While calling the naming of the organization 'tone deaf' a follower commented on the post, "They reaaaaaallllly need to change the name of this charity. It’s really patronizing and condescending even if it’s far from the intention of course. “oh i RECOGNIZE you’re HOMELESS AND TOOTHLESS, but I can only fix the toothless part. STAY HOMELESS though…” like it’s really tone deaf." While many 'RHOBH' fans believed the charity's cause was admirable, some thought the moniker was condescending. Another fan comment read, "The name is really absolutely inappropriate, however much I'm thinking about it. You can't openly label someone as homeless and then feel good about doing something for them that's literally not even attempting to change their obvious most unfortunate situation, which is being *homeless*. Unless there's anyone that feels proud about being homeless in the first place and they wear it like a badge. Like, how many overly privileged empty brains did it take to come up with this horrible charity name? (And no, I can still acknowledge the good the charity is doing, but it's absolutely inappropriate)." Another posed the question, "Isn’t it better to have a home than teeth though?" Bringing her political affiliation into the play, another follower commented, "Babe this name is so insulting and you voted for Rick Caruso so let’s not pretend like you’re an advocate for unhoused people."

It is safe to say that 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' fans believe that the organization's name should be reconsidered.
