Renée Zellweger snapped up the Golden Globe for "Best Actress in a Motion Picture— Drama" for 'Judy'.  Other nominees in the category included Cynthia Erivo ("Harriet"), Scarlett Johansson ("Marriage Story"), Saoirse Ronan ("Little Women"), and Charlize Theron ("Bombshell').

"Thank you to the HFPA for inviting me back to the family reunion," she said.  Zellweger thanked her cast and crew. "It's the journey that matters, the work that matters," she added. "I am honored," she said.

This is Zellweger's fourth Golden Globe win but first since 2004; she previously won for Nurse Betty, Chicago, and, most recently, Cold Mountain.

Directed by Rupert Goold, 'Judy' is an adaptation of the Olivier- and Tony-nominated West End and Broadway play 'End of the Rainbow' by Peter Quilter.

The drama follows Judy Garland's career during the last year of her life when she moved her stage career to Britain. After some initial success for a run of sell-out concerts at the Talk of the Town in London, her efforts eventually stop making progress and even start to worsen due to health issues.

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 83% based on 280 reviews, with an average rating of 7.01/10. The website's critics consensus reads: "Led by a deeply committed performance from Renée Zellweger, Judy captures the waning days of a beloved performer with clear-eyed compassion."
