Prince Harry's proposal to Meghan Markle is one of the most romantic ever, and here's why
Harry got down on his knee but he didn't get a chance to finish his question.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can't stop gushing about the next step they're about to take. For the past year-and-a-half, they've been separated by a continent and an ocean, but nothing can keep them apart anymore, not even a thriving acting career in Hollywood.
Meghan, who now dons an engagement ring made with a diamond from Botswana and two diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection, is going to spend the next few months in Kensington Palace before she walks down the aisle during their Spring wedding.

The jury is out on where they will wed, but the venue won't make a difference to them. They're all about keeping it simple and this reflects in the way Harry proposed to his sweetheart. Unlike his elder brother Prince William who chose an African vacation to pop the question, Harry got down on his knee during their "cozy night in" while they were cooking a meal of roast chicken for dinner.
Meghan was surprised, shocked and delighted when she saw her 33-year-old boyfriend making the most romantic gesture. She said yes even before he could complete his question.
"It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee. As a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing, I said - can I say yes now?" she told him during their interview with the BBC.
Harry proposed to his 36-year-old girlfriend earlier this month after she wrapped-up shooting season 7 of her American drama, Suits. British media was rife with speculation about a possible engagement announcement from Kensington Palace. Finally, Clarence House confirmed rumors about their engagement and stated that the couple is set to marry in the spring of 2018.
Although Harry proposed to Meghan more than a year after they started dating, he knew that she was the one. Harry said he fell in love with Meghan fairly quickly. "All the stars were aligned, everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life."
Harry said he didn't know anything about his soon-to-be future wife when he went on their blind date. But he called it a blessing and so did she. In fact, her only question to the friend who set them up was this: "Was he nice? Because if he wasn't kind it seemed like it didn't make sense."
They met for a drink on their first date and very quickly asked each other, "What are we doing tomorrow? We should do something," Meghan said. In their 16-month long relationship, they've never stayed apart for more than two weeks.
Meghan and Harry traveled to Botswana after four weeks of meeting each other, soon they were seen buying a Christmas tree, camping under the stars to watch the Northern lights and later, buying groceries for one of their home-cooked meals.

The American actress has already made herself a part of the royal family. She's met his aunts, cousins, the Queen and of course, Prince Charles. Harry said his late mother Princess Diana would have loved Meghan if she were still alive.
"They would have been as thick as thieves. Without question, I think she would have been over the moon jumping up and down for me but I think they would have been best friends," Harry said.
