You won't believe which celebrity is helping Meghan get in shape for the wedding!
Meghan, like every other bride-to-be, has enlisted a personal trainer before she walks down the aisle during her summer wedding to Prince Harry.
Most brides enlist themselves in the local gym months before their wedding. They also keep a close watch on their diet so that their beautiful wedding gown doesn't burst at the seams. If there's one thing we've learned from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, it is that they're just like us.
Prince Harry was seen in gymwear just a day after the Kensington Palace announced his engagement to the Suits actress.
Now, we've learned that his fiancée is also getting her regular workouts and wants to get in shape before her summer wedding.
To be honest, Meghan boasts of a curvaceous body and doesn't really need to sweat it out in the gym. She has stayed active most of her adult life by practicing her yoga routine, following a vegan diet on weekdays and venturing out on a run regularly.
She once told Best Health Magazine that her workouts don't necessarily include spending time in the gym. Like many of us, she plays a DVD and gets started. Nevertheless, sources say that she wants to build muscle strength before she walks down the aisle.
If you're wondering who's been enlisted to do this job, then suffice it to say that it's a close friend of the future Duchess. According to Daily Star, Meghan's roped in Serena Williams to tailor a workout routine and craft a diet plan that will help tone her body.
A source said that Serena, who is also rumored to be her bridesmaid, has daily Skype sessions with Meghan to see how she's getting on. "She's not lifting the kind of huge weights that turned Serena into a sporting beast of sorts, but it’s still a really tough workout," the source said.
Meghan has reportedly told the tennis champion that she doesn't want to look super skinny on her wedding day. Instead, she wants to have a strong and sexy physique in her wedding gown.
Daily Star reported that Serena has drawn up a four-month body-boosting regimen which includes protein and vitamin supplements.
"She is downing loads of protein and vitamin supplements after her morning workout and before her evening one to keep herself going," the source said, adding, "Meghan has always been a fitness fanatic so she’s loving having Serena helping her with her fitness goals."
In her interview with Best Health Magazine, Meghan said the key to working out always lies in self-motivation. The 36-year-old actress added that one wins half the battle with a strong determination to work out.
It sure does feel like Meghan sees exercise as a way of boosting mental and physical health. She once told Women's Health UK, "My health, my state of mind, the feeling you have after a workout; all of this things drive me to step onto my mat or go to the gym."
And being in the company of friends who are dedicated to remaining fit no doubt motivates her to stay on course. Meghan met Serena at a charity event in 2014 and they've remained friends since then.
The future royal said of their friendship, "We hit it off immediately – taking pictures, laughing and chatting, not about tennis or acting but about good old-fashioned girly stuff. So began our friendship."
"She became a confidante I would text when I was traveling – the friend I’d rally around for her tennis matches and the down-to-earth chick I could grab lunch with."
Meghan and Harry are set to tie the knot on May 19 at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. The couple has earlier stated that their wedding will be a celebration of their personalities.
