The Pirates of the Caribbean star had allegedly been physically and emotionally abusive towards Amber during the entirety of their relationship, which lasted four years. After the news of their separation was made public, Amber had detailed numerous incidents wherein Johnny had pushed her to the floor, pulled her hair and struck her, among other things.

The couple's friend and photographer iO Tillet Wright had also vouched to once witnessing Amber's blood-covered pillow in their home. People Magazine had also published photos of the actress with bruises on her face, along with a split lip.

She also delivered a powerful speech to comemmorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Towards Women about her own experiences.

Following these allegations, Amber had received a restraining order against her estranged husband. However, while settling their divorce in August 2016, Amber had withdrawn her request for the same, claiming their relationship was "intensely passionate and at times volatile but always bound by love."

It has been known for a while that Johnny would be playing the role of Grindelwald, but the finality of this news that came with the first look poster has people fuming. Many are demanding that the film be remade with a replacement for Johnny.

Many are setting All the Money in the World as an example, wherein actor Kevin Spacey was replaced after the allegations of sexual harassment and assault were levelled against him. Despite being set for release in December of 2017, the filmmakers have reshot Kevin's scenes with actor Christopher Plummer.

It remains to be seen if the filmmakers will pay any heed to these comments. But if JK Rowling, a vocal feminist, has some say in the matter, Johnny may very well get replaced.
