Dublin hotel slaps pesky blogger with €5.2 million bill for all the publicity she received

This YouTube blogger has seriously upset a luxury hotel owner in Dublin who has now slammed her with a huge invoice.

Recently, a luxury hotel in Dublin had called out a popular YouTube blogger for her ridiculous demands. The YouTube blogger had requested for a free stay for five nights as a reward for a good review from her to her Instagram and YouTube followers. In a sudden turn of events, the Dublin hotel has charged the blogger, Elle Darby, with an invoice of  €5,289,000 as reported by Daily Mail.

The invoice states that Darby is being charged for 'the provision of features in 114 articles in 20 countries which has a potential to reach over 450 million people. The owner of the luxury hotel, the White Moose Cafe, and Charleville Lodge Hotel, believes that the publicity he would have attracted for her is valued at €4.3m plus VAT.

Darby had written to the hotel's owner, Paul Stenson, to ask if he was interested in a collaboration. She mentioned that she was YouTube blogger and an Instagrammer who would boost the popularity of his hotel if he would allow her and her partner free stay for five nights.

Her exact words to Stenson in the email were, "I work as a social media influencer, mainly lifestyle, beauty & travel based. My partner and I are planning to come to Dublin for an early Valentine’s Day weekend from Feb 8th to 12th to explore the area. As I was searching for places to stay, I came across your stunning hotel and would love to feature you in my YouTube videos/dedicated Instagram stories/posts to bring traffic to your hotel and recommend others to book up in return for free accommodation."

In return to her email, Stenson replied, " Dear Social Influencer (I know your name but apparently it’s not important to use names), Thank you for your email looking for free accommodation in return for exposure. It takes a lot of balls to send an email like that if not much self-respect and dignity. If I let you stay here in return for a feature in a video, who is going to pay the staff who look after you? Who is going to pay the housekeepers who clean your room? The waiters who serve you breakfast? The receptionist who checks you in? Who is going to pay for the light and heat you use during your stay?"

The argument got pretty heated from then on, once the posts were uploaded onto various social media platforms. Both sides of the argument received a lot of negative backlash for their behaviors. Stenson is known to be quite upset at the request and took to banning all social media influencers from coming to his hotel.

Back in the year 2015, Stenson banned vegans from coming to his hotel. He has even posted a picture of two huge jars; one which is labeled "ashes of vegans" while the other is labeled "tears of bloggers".

The feud between the two sides has not yet ended and we are yet to see what Elle has to say in response to the invoice. For those of you who did not get to see the video, here is Elle Darby's response to the initial email sent by Paul Stenson:
