When stars got taken away before their time, so did their magic disappear.
Stars love their work and they love the admiration they receive from it. They put in a lot of time and effort to create what they create and it is that magic which we appreciate so much. But sometimes, not even the superstars get to see their work completed as they are taken away from us before time. There have been, thus, numerous stars who passed on while their movies were being made and could not be there for the response it got. Here, we have 12 stars who, unfortunately, passed on before their movies could be completed.
#1 Marilyn Monroe
The beautiful blonde who was the greatest style icon of her time died while she was yet to finish the movie 'Something's Got to Give'. The movie was already plagued with numerous incidents and she was even fired in between the shoot but the movie could never get completed as the star passed away due to an overdose of barbiturates.
#2 River Phoenix
The star who came into limelight for his movie 'Stand by Me' died while he was yet to finish 'Dark Blood'. He was convulsing on the sidewalk after leaving a nightclub and died while on his way to the hospital. The autopsy revealed a mixture of morphine, marijuana, cocaine, valium, and cold medicine in his blood.
#3 Paul Mantz
The actor was also a terrific aviator and starred in movies like 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', 'The Wings of Eagles'. He died in a stunt accident while filming 'The Flight of the Phoenix' wherein his plane struck a hill while flying over the deserts of Arizona, leading to his death.
#4 Steve Irwin
The 'Crocodile Hunter' was filming his documentary 'Ocean’s Deadliest' when he died. His death was caused by a stingray which he was filming and which attacked him several times continuously, stabbing him to death.
#5 Tyrone Power
The star of 'Lloyds of London' was filming his movie 'Solomon and Sheba' in 1958 when he passed away on the sets of the movie. His death was caused due to a massive heart attack while enacting a fencing scene.
#6 Vic Morrow
The actor was known for his macho portrayals and was filming his movie 'Twilight Zone: The Movie' which saw the accident that caused his death. The stunt required a combination of pyrotechnics and the use of a helicopter. In the accident, the explosion of fireworks led to the tail of the helicopter being severed. The crash led to his death and the death of two child actors as well.
#7 Bela Lugosi
The actor came to Hollywood from Hungary and was best known for his portrayal of Count Dracula. His later career saw a decline and he was also involved with drug abuse. He died of a heart attack while shooting for the movie 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'.
#8 Natalie Wood
Natalie Wood died while her film 'Brainstorm' was being shot. Though she did not die on the sets of the movie, her death was mysterious indeed. She was with her husband Robert Wagner on a yacht when she went overboard and drowned as she couldn't swim. It was alleged that she had an argument with him prior to her death.
#9 Bruce Lee
The martial art legend did not die during the shooting but during the dubbing for 'The Game of Death'. He collapsed during the dubbing and while being taken to the hospital, his brain showed abnormal swelling which may have caused the death.
#10 Brandon Lee
Brandon Lee, the son of legend Bruce Lee, died on the sets of the movie 'The Crow' in a stunt accident. He was supposed to be shot but the rifle contained actual remnants of a live round which caused his death.
#11 Philip Seymour Hoffman
The Oscar-winning actor was found dead on his bathroom floor due to acute drug intoxication. The overdose may have caused his death and a syringe was found stuck in his arm. At the time of his death, he was filming the movie 'Mockingjay Part 1'.
#12 Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger who gained applause worldwide for his incredible portrayal of The Joker in the movie 'The Dark Knight' was found dead in his apartment in 2008 while completing his next movie 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' with director Terry Gilliam. His death is believed to have been caused by an accidental overdose of prescription pills and sleeping pills.
