Man arrested for stealing Frances McDormand's Oscar as she celebrated Best Actress win

She's been reunited with the award since but the scare reportedly got her sobbing

In a shocking turn of events, someone allegedly tried to steal an Oscar! It was during the time that Frances McDormand decided to go to the Governor's Ball after the awards and she found the golden statue missing. The Best Actress winner for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was reportedly sobbing outside away from the party.

The man who allegedly stole the award has also been arrested reported Page Six. The LAPD reportedly confirmed to Page Six that the thief identified as Terry Bryant has been charged with felony grand theft charges. The strange part is, the report also said that she asked the man to be let off. It makes one wonder, did she know him?

The precious award was found later and Frances was reunited with it, reported USA Today. "Fran and Oscar are happily reunited and are enjoying an In-N-Out burger together," McDormand’s rep, Simon Halls said.

The photo of the suspect was also captured by Chef Wolfgang Puck's photographer, tweeted a New York Times reporter Cara Buckley tweeted a snapshot of him. She said, "Security at the Governors Ball are looking for this guy, who grabbed Frances McDormand’s Oscar and ran out with it. Wolfgang Puck’s photographer stopped him, got the Oscar back, and the guy disappeared back into the ball." Scary, isn't it?  

According to the Daily Mail, the man charged with stealing the actress' award, Terry Bryant claims to be a 'producer, Alist Entertainment journalist,TV Film & Music Producer,A&E Editor Actor,TV Host,UN Ambassador' on Instagram.

Bryant, who also goes by DJ Matari, also had a ticket to the event on Sunday night and he was also seen showing off and posing with McDormand's award on social media claiming it to be his.
