A randy couple who were attending a bar mitzvah on Zoom shocked viewers after accidentally showing themselves having sex while forgetting to join the virtual ceremony with their audio-only.

The middle-aged pair were reportedly filmed pleasuring each other while virtually attending the service at the Temple Beth El in Minneapolis on May 14. Shocked onlookers said the raunchy couple engaged in an extended sex session that only ended after they spotted a private chat begging them to stop.

"It went on for about 45 minutes," one person who witnessed the couple getting it on told the New York Post on condition of anonymity. "She was walking around naked, she got dressed, she's in and out of the Zoom, he was in the bed, he whipped it out, she started going to work. Someone on the Zoom saw and called her and was like, 'WTF are you doing? You're on camera.' She freaked out."

"It was a Zoom for a bat mitzvah," the source continued. "Most people were not on camera except like, the old bubbes… who don't know how to turn off their camera, and these two people. So the boxes were pretty big and everyone could see who was on camera." While the pair hasn't been identified by the synagogue, there's no suggestion that they are exhibitionists who deliberately broadcast themselves having sex as part of a pandemic-era trend called 'Zoom bombing.' "I'm aware of the incident and won't be commenting on the details," Matt Walzer, the managing director of Temple Beth El, told the Post.

That said, the unidentified couple appeared to have "pulled a Toobin." The phrase emerged after CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin inadvertently pleasured himself on a live Zoom call with staff for the New Yorker in October 2020. While he was fired by the magazine, CNN allowed him to return to the air following a brief suspension.

Zoom mishaps have become commonplace amid the Covid pandemic. Last year, a Texas lawyer grabbed headlines over a kitten filter he accidentally left on during a virtual court hearing. Presidio County Attorney Rod Ponton hilariously told the judge "I'm not a cat" as he scrambled to remove the animation from his screen during a live-streamed hearing for the 394th Judicial District Court of Brewster. The presiding judge Roy Ferguson initially alerted Ponton, "I believe you have a filter turned on in video settings and you might want to turn it off."

"It is [a filter]," a panicked Ponton hastily reiterated as the cat filter began moving its eyes and mouth in unison with the speaker. "And I don’t know how to remove it. I’ve got my assistant here, she’s trying to, but ahhh I’m prepared to go forward with it… I’m here live, I’m not a cat," he added.

Judge Ferguson later addressed the amusing episode on Twitter. "IMPORTANT ZOOM TIP: If a child used your computer, before you join a virtual hearing check the Zoom Video Options to be sure filters are off. This kitten just made a formal announcement on a case in the 394th," the judge quipped, before adding in another post, "These fun moments are a by-product of the legal profession's dedication to ensuring that the justice system continues to function in these tough times. Everyone involved handled it with dignity, and the filtered lawyer showed incredible grace. True professionalism all around!"
