Queen Elizabeth II reportedly joked with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison over scorch marks left on Buckingham Palace's lawn after President Donald Trump's helicopters landed there during his state visit.

Trump, along with wife Melania, had landed in Marine One in front of the palace on the first day of his visit in June this year. Reports state that a supporter helicopter had also parked on the lawn, and later in the day, Trump made another helicopter journey from Winfield House, the US ambassador's residence, and back to the palace.

The helicopter again landed on the palace's lawn so Trump could attend a state banquet organized for the first couple. Reports state that the Queen, while talking to Morrison, is believed to have commented about the helicopter landings on the day of Trump's arrival, a source close to Morrison told the Sunday Times.

The Queen had reportedly taken Morrison outside towards the lawn and joked to him, saying: "Come and look at my lawn. It's ruined." The statement was made when Morrison traveled to the UK for the 75th D-Day commemorations in June. Fortunately for the Queen, Trump's visit came after the Buckingham Palace summer garden party season.

Trump, during his state visit to the UK, appeared enthusiastic throughout the trip and even praised Queen Elizabeth II during the state dinner in Buckingham Palace. "On behalf of all Americans I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations and truly remarkable reign of Her Majesty the Queen," the president had said.

He had also taken to Twitter during his UK visit and wrote a string of tweets, saying his trip was going well: "London part of trip is going really well. The Queen and the entire Royal family have been fantastic. The relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong."
