Spoilers ahead for season 1 episode 7 'Q&A' of 'Prodigal Son'

Last week's episode revealed that Dr Martin Whitly aka The Surgeon (Michael Sheen) did not work alone and that he might have a co-conspirator the entire time.

In episode 7 'Q&A', Ainsley's (Halston Sage) interview with The Surgeon takes a turn for the worst faster than we would have imagined. Things go downhill and suddenly Ainsley, who was adamant that she would be showing The Surgeon for who he really is, ends up portraying him as some kind of a messiah who saves the life of her near-death boyfriend. Her mother Jessica (Bellamy Young) and Malcolm (Tom Payne) had earlier warned her about the manipulative nature of Martin Whitly, but she didn't pay them any heed.

By the end of the episode, when Jessica and Malcolm are back home, they receive a phone call from a certain someone who claims to be a family friend - his father's colleague.

A frightening call like this is going to only have frightening repercussions. According to the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, as the NYPD begins investigations into the Junkyard Killer case, Malcolm realizes that the main suspect might have had some kind of a connection with his father. The family friend who contacted Malcolm talks of the same camping trip that has been haunting Malcolm over the last few episodes. Which means that the father-son duo wasn't alone on this murderous trip.

A clip released by the network shows Jessica apologizing to Eve for canceling their meeting. "Eve shows up unannounced and determined to get answers from Jessica about their canceled meeting, but she ends up getting much more than that when her new acquaintance confides a glimpse into her sordid past," read the synopsis of the video.

When Eve (Molly Griggs) made her first appearance on the show as a representative of an anti-human trafficking charity, fans had theorized that she might have something to do with the girl in the box.

"I definitely think that Eve has a hidden agenda. She seemed to know exactly how to play to Jessica's ego and manipulate her. And now she seems to be also setting her sights on Malcolm," a fan had theorized. "Initially I thought Eve may just be trying to dig up new information for a book about a serial killer's family, something like that. But it's possible she has a more personal motive if she is related to one of Martin's victims."

After watching the recent clip released by the network, fans are back to theorizing that Eve might have more to do than just work for a supposed anti-human trafficking charity. "Eve has some purpose to approach Jessica, doesn't she?" pointed a fan

Eve's appearance in the upcoming episode indicates that there might be more to her character. Whether she will be a friend or a foe to the Whitlys is yet to be seen.

'Prodigal Son' airs on Mondays at 10 pm ET/PT on Fox.
