The 'Private Lives' promo of episode 3 that aired right after episode 2's end reveals quite a bit of interesting spoilers as it connects Lee Jeong-hwan, the man who scammed Cha Joo-eun into falling in love, and the woman that Joo-eun has been raging to exact revenge against since when she was in college -- Jeong Bok-ki. He seems to be the man who was the mastermind of a con that Joo-eun, Hanson, and Joo-eun's mother ran, however, all this while, she hadn't revealed who she was dating to anyone except Min-jeong, her friend from the correctional facility.

However, turns out Jeong-hwan is a bigger 'documentary maker' -- as these scam artists address themselves -- than Hanson and Joo-eun. He also seems to be involved in taking up assignments that involve taking out people. He is a hired gun and also a cheap con artist who for the most part seems interested in fooling young women in having a love affair, taking them for a ride, and abandoning them at the aisle right before saying 'I, Do'. This is exactly what he had done with Joo-eun and from the looks of it, he will continue to do the same in the future as well.

The already confused and disturbed Joo-eun is now completely heartbroken not because she was fooled in the name of love but because happiness was just at arm's length and yet again she missed her chance at being happy. The family that Joo-eun had always wanted was right there to grab, but it disappeared right before her eyes and for that she wants Jeong-hwan to get what he deserves. However, she might not succeed because we see her get emotional and we also see her mother tell her not to lose herself and think straight. However, right after, we also see Joo-eun trace Bok-ki and she even goes as far as grabbing her by the hair and going to town.

After all, not only had Bok-ki cheated Joo-eun's father, but also been the person behind Joo-eun serving time in a correctional facility despite not doing anything illegal, at least in relation to the pyramid scheme that Bok-ki had been running. When Bok-ki had left, she had said that she doesn't plan on returning ever from China, but this definitely doesn't seem to be true from the promo. Beyond all of this, we want to know how Jeong-hwan is truly connected to Bok-ki and her partner.

'Private Lives' airs on JTBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 pm KST and can be streamed on Netflix outside of South Korea.
