'Private Lives' Episode 10 begins with Han Son coming to Joo-eun's (Seohyun) rescue just when GK's shadow agents are about to close in on her. Her mother also buys her time by warning her just when she is about to be caught by them leading to a fun fighting sequence that sees Han Son let it loose on the thugs who have sided with GK. Joo-eun leaves with Han Son and as she goes back to everything that happened, realizes that she is being used as a bait to goad Lee Jeong-hwan and successfully at that. This also leads to Han Son come to his own conclusion because the man who was extremely against Joo-eun marrying this guy comes forward to help him in a tough situation.

You see just when Jeong-hwan (Go Kyung-pyo) had tried to track Joo-eun after she had left without a word, he witnesses his friend from the orphanage get kidnapped by GK and when he tracks the kidnappers down, he comes face to face with Edward Kim who had begun working for GK again. He is attacked by a number of men including Edward who gives Jeong-hwan two choices. To give in, let Edward break his leg and retire or die, and for real this time. Right when he is about to be struck down, Joo-eun and Han Son coincidentally arrive at the scene and help Jeong-hwan escape. It is after this that Jeong-hwan and Joo-eun have another round of confrontation and this time it is about the money. The jewel that Joo-eun gifted him, the money that she had given him for a deposit on house among other things.

Turns out, Jeong-hwan hadn't cheated on Joo-eun but had kept everything safe. That brings the wall that the two of them have built around each other down a little bit.  We then see Han Son, Jeong-hwan, Joo-eun, and Bok-gi (Kim Hyo-jin) sit down for a conversation but the four of them have still not come together so much as they are using each other. The only ones who now have a reason to go against GK are Joo-eun and Jeong-hwan as they are currently being targeted. Joo-eun might actually die if GK succeeded in labeling her an industrial spy. She can be sentenced to death in China and that is exactly what GK wants now that the former couple has declared war against the GK Vision Room.

While Edward Kim and his leadership are all gunning for Jeong-hwan and Joo-eun, the other side is also strategizing. Joo-eun reaches out to the detective who took on the case of Jeong-hwan's death. She wants to work with him to ensure that she doesn't get chewed up by a huge conglomerate. The cop takes his time but decides that the cops at the higher rung are up to no good. While Joo-eun has got herself an ally, Bok-gi has figured out the secret connection between Edward Kim's past and one affluent man Kwon Hyuk-jun.

As she begins to uncover the secrets of the black book, a copy of which she holds, the clues lead her to Edward Kim and when the episode comes to a close, we see her get pretty close to him. This has us wondering if Bok-gi will return to working with her former partner and betray Joo-eun, her new partner, or if she will help this side come up with a plan that would thwart all of Edward Kim and GK's. Where is this show leading? The intrigue hasn't worn off yet, but can the mystery hold our interest much longer?

'Private Lives' airs on JTBC on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9.30 pm KST and can be streamed on Netflix outside South Korea.
