Prince William as James Bond? 007 producer Barbara Broccoli thinks he's 'perfect' as he 'ticks all boxes'

As the James Bond producers look for the actor's successor, they believe Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, would be 'perfect' for the next 007

James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli believes that Prince William is the "perfect candidate" to be the next James Bond. Barbara said that the duke, 40, "ticks all the boxes" when asked who she would want to see follow Daniel Craig, 54, as Bond. 

After playing the legendary character for 15 years on his film debut, 'Casino Royale', Daniel Craig made his farewell appearance as 007 last year in 'No Time To Die'. As the James Bond producers look for the actor's successor, they believe Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, would be "perfect" for the part. The two people in charge of the movie series, Barbara Broccoli and her brother Michael Wilson, were honored this week with CBEs by the heir apparent at the Buckingham Palace. "Unfortunately, the person we just met isn’t available. He’s occupied, unfortunately, but he would be the perfect candidate," she stated light-heartedly, according to The Mirror.

Due to the Duke of Cambridge's military career and successes with The East Anglian Air Ambulance, he is frequently been likened to Bond. In addition to attending Eton, Ian Fleming's fictitious Bond shared the Duke's military training. Sean Connery, who is well-known for playing the spy in the early film adaptations from 1962 to 1971, epitomized the fact that the original Bond was Scottish rather than English like the Duke. Several names have been floated as prospective Bond replacements, including Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page, Luther's Idris Elba, and Peaky Blinders' Tom Hardy.

According to Metro, Barbara recently confessed that determining who will be the next in line will take a long time, given the difficult task of replacing Daniel, whom she characterized as the "greatest actor on the planet." "It’s a big decision. It’s not just casting a role. It’s about a whole rethink about where we’re going," she said.

Barbara's statement has taken the internet by storm, while some agree with her choice, others denied. A user wrote, "Same! And everyone has an opinion on who they think it should be. "please dont let prince william actually play james bond ," a user tweeted.
