Prince Harry is reportedly not very enthusiastic about being a part of Netflix's hit show, 'The Crown', a dramatized account of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, his grandmother.

In a show on BBC Breakfast, writer Angela Levin revealed that the 35-year-old royal said he would 'stop' the show if they ever attempted to cover his story.

"Harry, when I went to interview him in the palace, the first thing he said to me when he shook my hand was, 'Are you watching The Crown?'"  Levin recalled. "And I hadn't been at the time, I felt very embarrassed and he got it and said, 'I'm going to make sure I stop it before they get to me,'" she went on to say.

Speaking at the Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos expressed his interest in the royal couple's life now that they were free to make deals as part of their quest to become financially independent.

"Yes, sure... Who wouldn't be interested?" Sarandos reportedly said while responding to a question about working with Harry and Meghan.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl previously told ET that Harry and Meghan used to watch 'The Crown' in the early days of their relationship.

"But what was so lovely was that they just had a very normal courtship," Nicholl said. "It was all behind the closed doors of the palace or Meghan's Toronto apartment. But when she came over and stayed with Prince Harry at Notting Cottage,  I was told that they loved nothing more than cooking some nice food, catching up on Netflix and watching 'The Crown', which they apparently watch together," she added.

Prince William, however, is apparently not a fan of the series. In November, actress Olivia Colman, who stars as Queen Elizabeth II on the new season of 'The Crown', revealed her own uncomfortable exchange with William during an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show'.

"It didn't go very well," she said, "I met Prince William at a dinner, and he asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, 'actually, I know what you're doing.' I was so excited and asked, 'have you watched it?' His answer was a firm, 'no.' But he was very charming and very lovely."

However, it looks like the royal brothers do not have to worry about the recent royal family drama entering the plotline of the show.

Suzanne Mackie, the show's executive producer, told earlier this month she doubts the show will be around long enough to cover current events.

"To be honest, whatever the life of 'The Crown' is after where we are now, I doubt we'll ever go as far into the present day," Mackie told PA, adding, "I think we'll probably -- we won't travel into the present day."

Nonetheless, Crown star Josh O'Connor told ET at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday how Meghan could potentially play herself "brilliantly" on the Netflix series.

"I'm sure she could [play herself]," he said. "Yeah, I've heard [she's coming back to acting]. I'm sure she could do that brilliantly, if anyone could. But I feel like we're certainly not going to be there when they do."
