Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke pregnancy news to their family at Princess Eugenie's wedding
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - had some happy news to share with the royal family on the day they all gathered for the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The couple, who got married in May this year, attended the wedding ceremony and reception at the St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, which also their wedding venue.
After joining in the festivities, the couple kicked off their 16-day tour and arrived in Sydney today. The pair will visit Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga. It is reported that the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "delighted" for the couple.
Just hours after the royal couple arrived in Australia, The Kensington Palace shared that the pregnancy would not interfere with the royal tour and there would be "no changes" to it. The US ambassador Woody Johnson was one of the first to respond to the royal baby news and took to Twitter to say, "Happy news to wake up to on a Monday morning - congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!!"
Meghan Markle's mother Doria Ragland is also "very happy about this lovely news" and "looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild." A spokesman for the Kensington Palace shared, "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
Some time ago, Meghan's mother Daria was rumored to have attended baby care lessons in the US. It is reported that Meghan is already past the 12-week mark of her pregnancy. Harry and Meghan started dating after being set up on a blind date in the year 2016 in July.
