Prince Harry could be called back into royal life should the coronavirus outbreak worsen in the UK. Harry and wife Meghan Markle are set to step down as senior members of the royal family on March 31. Experts have shared that it is possible that the palace could ask him to provide assistance if his sister-in-law Kate Middleton becomes pregnant during the crisis.

Harry's older brother Prince William, the second-in-line to the throne, could be required to take up a senior role in the royal family during the coronavirus pandemic should the Queen and Prince Charles be placed in isolation given the coronavirus outbreak. Grant Harrold, a royal butler who provided his services between 2004 and 2011, said, "It is possible that if the Queen and the Prince of Wales are in isolation, then Prince William as second-in-line would take a more active role during this period."

Author of the book 'Call Me Diana: Princess Diana', Nigel Cawthorne spoke to Daily Mail, saying: "It is entirely sensible for Prince William to act as a placeholder for the Queen. There has to be a physical presence to the monarchy, not just a virtual one."

However, Cawthorne pointed out that if Kate Middleton becomes pregnant, the palace would have to go "on bent knee to Prince Harry to ask him to act as placeholder" given the coronavirus pandemic.

Cawthorne shared that Harry, 35, would surely be "delighted" to help. He said, "I am sure he would come back and be delighted to help out, too, and do anything to protect his father and grandmother." The development comes following a heartwarming message about the need for banding together globally amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Harry and Meghan had taken to Instagram to share an inspiring quote. They captioned the image, "These are uncertain times. And now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary."

"There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the frontline, or at home. Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring. This moment is as true a testament there is to the human spirit," it read.

We had previously reported that Prince Harry is currently stuck in North America and unable to return to Britain after the borders were set to close in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. It is believed that the Duke of Sussex arrived in Vancouver just in time as he could have been forced to postpone his abdication for months.

Harry and Meghan had returned to Vancouver just last week after completing their final duties as senior members of the royal family. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday, March 16, that non-citizens and non-residents would not be allowed into the country in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
