Harry angers fans by booking entire first class train carriage post eco-conference: 'Not wanting ordinary life?'
Prince Harry and his bodyguards had booked the entire first-class carriage to themselves as he traveled from Edinburgh to London post his eco-conference.
This type of behavior is in stark contrast to that of other members of the royal family who also use the train to go on official engagements. Earlier this month, Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled to and from a visit to the new Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre near Loughborough alongside other train users as well. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall also frequently travel by train and sit with other paying commuters.
Twitter users, who were disappointed by Harry's act of indulegence took to commenting on Harry's first-class carriage travels and expressed their disapproval on the same. One such user shared, "Didn't he just say he was "Just Harry"?"
Another user wrote, "What's his problem. Doesn't the lad like traveling with people that pay for his security? I've really gone off Harry since he married. He's changed and not for the better." A third user chimed in, "So he's flown several thousand miles, taken over an entire first-class carriage train journey to get to a convention to preach about being green/carbon neutral. Oh, and someone else paid for it."
A fourth user echoed the sentiment and wrote, "Not really wanting an ordinary life then?" Another user said, "Do as I say, not as I do, and pay for me and all my security and our luxury choices too."
Harry had been attending a 'working summit' for his new 'Travalyst' partnership that works with leading figures to make it easier for customers to find greener ways to travel. However, Harry has often been criticized for just talking the talk after many pointed out his use of private jets.
We had previously reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had asked their fans and followers to consider their carbon footprint days after figures revealed that the royal household's emissions had doubled since last year. They were heavily criticized for the same as well.
