The first Presidential debate for the 2020 race between President Donald Trump and his opponent, Democratic Presidential nominee, Joe Biden, wrapped up on Tuesday, September 29, and the verdict is in for the night. While most of the left-wing media polls favored the former vice president, some of the right-leaning polls declared the POTUS the winner. CNN instant poll of debate watchers says Biden won by 60% while only 28% of the people supported Trump's views. Meanwhile, CBS News battleground tracker instant poll of debate watchers put Biden at 48% compared to Trump at 41%. On the other hand, a poll conducted by Telemundo put Trump at 66% while Biden stood at 34%. A CSPAN poll, on the other hand, showed an overwhelming victory for the president with 55.3% while Biden's debating skills were approved by only 27.8%.

CBS also conducted a few more polls including how the debate made people feel. Sixty-nine percent of the debate watchers said they were "annoyed" by debate. Only 31% of the people felt "entertained" by the debate; 19% found it "pessimistic" and only 17% felt like the debate left them "informed." A separate poll from the same outlet said that the tone of the debate was 83% negative and only 17% positive.

Right-wing journalist Megyn Kelly echoed the feeling that was going through many people's minds when she to Twitter and wrote, "What a $&@%show. Biggest loser of this debate: us!" A number of people agreed with Kelly in the comments section. "Omg, I knew this would be a train wreck, but ... OMG, it was an explosion. I was undecided before and even more so now. How are we here in 2020? Oh ya, 2020 is the biggest shit show of all..." one said, while another wrote, "I wish they would realize that they are both hurting themselves by talking over each other and the moderator so much. I can’t freaking hear anything." A third said, "Absolutely a waste of time. Arguing to the point of ad nauseam. I wanted to hear both sides not he said she said all night. Disappointed!"

One of the users wrote, "Good point (it was a train-wreck). I just had to apologize for this debacle to my 13-year-old son, and try to describe what these debates were like many decades ago....." Another opined, "Before the debate, I without a doubt wanted to vote for one of these candidates after I would never vote for either of them."

There were also people who blamed the debate moderator Chris Wallace for the messy way it was presented. "Be honest... what happened to the 'fair and balanced Chris Wallace'???" asked one of them while another one commented, "I agree, I’m also very disappointed in Chris Wallace who continually scolded the President, but let Biden interrupt at Will." A social media user said, "This is on Chris Wallace! He was terrible and became a debater and not a moderator. He tried to be 'heard' way too much!" Another opined, "Chris Wallace was horrible. It is not his job to debate! Ask the question, let it be answered, Allie the other candidate to have a rebuttal. This was ridiculous!"
