President Trump's African American allies who urged him to get A$AP Rocky released from Swedish detention are unhappy the rapper has still not thanked the president for taking up his cause. According to Yahoo News, one of them called the entertainer and his entourage "ungrateful motherf****rs" for not having a word of appreciation over his release.

Trump's favorite Ohio pastor, Darrell Scott, and Kareem Lanier, co-chair of the Urban Revitalization Coalition, said the least Rocky could do after being freed from Swedish prison was to say a thank you to those who helped him return to the US.

The rapper was awaiting trial on assault charges while being held in prison when Trump called for his release, vouching that he was not a flight risk. He was ultimately freed before the verdict was delivered, which found him guilty of assault but without a prison sentence.

However, those who helped put the rapper's case on the Resolute Desk thought they were taken for granted. "The White House didn't ask for anything," Scott said. "There were no conditions attached, but my condition and Kareem's condition was that all I'm asking for you guys to do is say thank you."

Earlier this summer, Hassan Muhammad, who describes himself as a "fixer" for the entertainment industry, reached out to Trump's allies and asked them to push for Rocky's release. Scott and Lanier said they were promised a "thank you" for their altruism, but have still not received any expression of gratitude to them or the president ever since his return at the beginning of this month.

The rapper did, however, thank his fans for their support, describing the experience as "humbling." "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, friends and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks," Rocky wrote on Instagram. "I can't begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you."

Swedish authorities took the entertainer in custody after a June 30 incident where he was accused of assault, with prosecutors recommending six months in jail over his crime.

A Swedish court ruled on August 2 that Rocky and two other suspects were free from detention and welcome to leave the country, pending a verdict set to be announced on August 14.

"A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP!" Trump improvised on Twitter.

Pastor Scott and Lanier later revealed that Damien Granderson, an attorney for Rocky, was acting too "nonchalant" after they told him the president was lobbying on his client's behalf. It was at that moment that Lanier "snapped" at Granderson.

"I was like, man, you ungrateful motherf****rs, you. I can't believe you," he remembered telling the lawyer. "We didn't ask you guys for nothing other than for you guys to be grateful. We just want you guys to be appreciative and say thank you."
